i wonder if there's any chance King is "kay-ing" in the c4... 'kay is short for okay and okay can be a verb in the sense "give permission"
something like "signing off" could maybe be clued by okay-ing, although that's one letter too short

Thought: Perhaps "King" has to be the first word in the C4 because it's actually a proper name
Also, the more I look at the clue, the more I'm convinced it's an &lit

i think msh210 has said he always marks &lits with an exclamation point, but i can't find the quote with the search now so i'm not 100% sure
king being a proper name sounds very plausible
