I think the first step is to consider that right now you're asking 'what do we even have to do?'

In a sudoku, you have empty spaces to fill.

In a slitherlink, you have a loop to draw.

In hashi, you have bridges to draw.

In nurikabe, you have a wall to make.

In Akari, you have lights to place.

So, the first thing to think about, is:
