Q: My puzzle which have been posted on other forum

Jamal SenjayaI created many puzzles, before I find this site, I posted the puzzle on other forum www.brainden.com/forum. After finding this site, I see this site is more active, with more members, so I posted some puzzle which have been posted at that forum here. Today a moderator here realize that the puzzle...

I don't mean to be a pain in the slightest, however I was about to post the answer that I posted here for the question "Who is this Man"
When I was given the notice "Your post cannot be submitted at this time due to the volume of spam and abuse originating from your network. We apologize for any inconvenience."

As far as I was aware, the only things I have been a part of in this exchange site are answering another question, talking here for two posts prior to this one and editing the question I had posted.
I forgot to mention that in the Help Center, where I was linked to to understand why I was restricted, the best explanation i found was that "the abuse was extremely severe"

Which personally I don't think anything I have done is. Hence my confusion.
(Sorry for double posting, i'm just a little tired and upset at the fact that i don't get to post my answer.)

@Avigrail Thanks! :] Credit where credit is due, it really was a joint process.

Where can I find the sandbox-thing?
Or where will I be able to find it?

user61230
It'll be on meta.

user61230
Still needs to be drafted, but the way things are looking, this is going to happen, so.

I mean, sheesh. +14/0.

@Emrakul It is still going up! I like the idea of a sandbox
Good job to the mod team on this one :)

Is chat or meta the better place for the sandboxing?

10:27 AM
@BmyGuest I think it will reach/affect more people if the sandbox is in Meta, but that's just my opinion.

This is a bit embarrassing, but what exactly is a sandbox??

@Sid A sandbox is a place where you can test things. i.e. build them and destroy them if they don't work right.
@Sid This is a basic definition that should apply here (at least in general)

@ObviouslyJake I don't have any specific information about your problem, but I can confirm that you have connected from an IP address that is listed as "blocked". I assume that someone else has connected from this location in the past and has posted spam or other abusive things, and as a result this IP address was blocked.
You can see this link for a little more information, but likely your only option is to connect from a different location.
If your Internet Service Provider uses dynamic IP address allocation, then it is possible that you have been assigned an IP address that used to belong to someone else who was being abusive. In this case, you just need to reset your IP address so that it is reassigned again. In some cases, this is as simple as resetting your router. You can contact your ISP for more information if you think this is the case.

Thanks for the help, my friend. I reset my router though it did nothing.

Just incase, i'm going through my old answers and such to try and upgrade them.

So far I haven't actually had a question with more downvotes than upvotes, aside from my first question, when ID-Req was on-topic, though it can't hurt, right?

If this fails, then i'll contact and change my IP.

@ObviouslyJake Improving the quality of your answers is always a good thing, but it won't have any effect on the ban in this case. That only matters if your account has been banned. In this case, it's your IP address that has been banned, so you're pretty much out of luck when it comes to having the ban lifted.

Well that sucks.

But if this is a problem of you being randomly assigned a banned IP address, there should be a relatively simple way of requesting a new one. Your ISP should be able to tell you how. If they're feeling particularly benevolent, they might even have a way of making sure you never get assigned that particular one again.
@ObviouslyJake I'm sorry you've had such a frustrating introduction to Puzzling.SE. I hope it doesn't discourage you from contributing in the future (once you've ironed out your IP issues). Note that your IP address is currently banned from answering, but you are still able to post questions, which is another excellent way to contribute to the site.

Don't worry. I don't plan on leaving. It's just a little frustrating.
I have a similar question.
Is this for the whole of my account, or just the Puzzle site? I don't want to try and provide a bad answer to test it somewhere else, so it's better just to ask.

5:22 PM
@ObviouslyJake I can't answer that. I only have access to info for Puzzling, so I can't tell you if you're banned elsewhere. My suspicion would be that it's only for Puzzling but I'm afraid I can't tell you for sure.
You could contact one of the mods on one of the other StackExchange sites you frequent, and ask them to check for you.

@ObviouslyJake IP blocks for spam are liable to be network-wide. Your best bet is to use the Contact Us link at the bottom of the page, which will get you in touch with the community team at Stack Exchange.

Q: Should we burninate [word-problem]?

DeusoviI've had an issue with the word-problem tag for a while. It's currently being used as a replacement or co-tag for: story wordplay or word mathematics Of these, only the last is what the tag should actually be used for, according to the tag wiki. However, even if it was only used for mathemati...

@Deusovi Now I've got that song in my head lol

Which song? There are so many.
(And yeah, "burninate" is a reference to Homestar Runner. I didn't come up with the idea of using it for tags, though - that's a tradition back from SO.)

Q: Is it poor form to post multiple possibilities in an answer?

Jason CLet's say there is a riddle, and I am unsure of the answer but have narrowed it down to, say, 2 possibilities. Would it be in poor form to post a single answer that says "Either it's A, or it's B"? What about posting multiple answers, one for A and one for B? That doesn't seem acceptable to me ...
