C4 hint: The reason I said I'm not so proud of this one is that there's arguably a part-of-speech mismatch (or, if you prefer, but I don't, an error of fact).
A kilt (n.) is plaid (adj.), the POS mismatch. Or if you consider the noun "plaid", well, a kilt isn't one, the error of fact.
But I clued PLAID with "a kilt, perhaps", so . . . maybe it's valid?
Btw, now that it's solved, does having multiple examples remove (or reduce) the need for an explicit "perhaps/for example"? I wasn't sure, hence hedged my bets with a "?" (the absolver of all cryptic sins).
