Clearly someone needs to make a puzzle where the faces of a [rubiks-cube] are arranged to form 2/3 of a [sudoku] but with (not colours or numbers but) letters, some subset of which (the centres of the faces, perhaps) need to be [anagram]med to discover a [password].

sorry :( @Adam

(I think Adam may have meant "the same question you asked was nagging at me too" rather than "the thing Gareth was concerned about was nagging at me too")

I'm not sure, though. Could be either.

Q: A Grid With the Products of Its Rows and Columns are the Same Set of Numbers

Quote DaveLets say there is a $3 \times3$ grid that is filled with the numbers $1,2,3,...9$ Can the numbers be arranged so that the products of the columns are the same set of numbers as the product of the rows (not necessarily the same number or order)? What about a $5 \times 5$ grid with the numbers $1,2...

Q: What does all this mean? He wondered

DEEMWhen he woke up, he found himself in a beautiful but strange place. He could hear the sound of ocean waves and feel the warm breeze. “Where am I?” he wondered. He started walking towards the nearest street intersection. There it was! A board with a map. He looked at it and was more confused tha...

@Sphinx That picture reminds me of a Google Doodle.
@GarethMcCaughan It says it's locked for 11 [more] minutes. The contest is through Jan.

Huh. I thought I locked it permanently. Maybe I clicked in the wrong place by mistake or something.
Ah, I see. The UI for locking lets you select (1) why the question is being locked and (2) how long it's locked for, and changing #1 resets #2. Locked permanently now. Thanks for noticing.

Q: Gambling snap game

Dr XorileYou have two shuffled decks of cards (52 cards each). You put them next to each other and deal two at a time, one from each deck. What is the probability that there will be at least one match? That is, the probability that the two cards turned up will be the same at some point in the game?

CCCC hint 3: The second letter is U.

Not the CCCC: A senator from Louisiana and a congressman from Texas filibuster, perhaps (4,5)

I know what the first word has to be.
ah, got it; nice
though the definition seems just slightly iffy to me

@GarethMcCaughan perhaps because [definition] causes rather than is [answer]?

yes, right.
and it is a [first word] something but the something isn't really exactly a [second word], it's more active than that

Right. It's a little weak; that plus the fact that the answer is not a set phrase led me to just throw it out here for fun rather than use it for the CCCC or elsewhere.

and fun indeed it is.

11:17 PM
In case anyone wants, the answer is rot13(YBAT QRYNL).
@GarethMcCaughan thanks
