maaaybe we want to trash spam
like, it shouldn't be searchable in this room

I don't think anyone is posting spam for the sake of getting their titles to appear as comments in TSL.

at least in this case the link didn't arrive here

yeah, I think I would be inclined to delete Sphinx notifications here that actually include links to spammers' websites.
(of course we don't know that the website actually belongs to the spammer; there have been "false flag" cases where someone does something blatantly spammy in order to make someone else look like a spammer and get penalized accordingly)

...spam doesn't require affiliation, tbf

Q: Is it possible to methodically find the total of ways to read a given phrase making a stack?

Chris Steinbeck BellIt's been days since I have been going in circles with this word-search puzzle and still don't get a clear idea how to solve it. Does it exist a systematically approach or a method which doesn't involve guessing or filling up with circles?. The problem is as follows: At a kindergarten's play...

Oh wait its onl 12:00 over there

"was reading and lost track of time"
"then was browsing Imgur and lost track of time again"

Good ways to lose time
Which book?

December 1941, by Craig Shirley

Hmm never heard of it, looking it up

It's not a novel.

10:35 PM
oh
Non-fiction, it seems
Oh, it's about WWII
Wait no
Well sort of WWII, it's the month where Pearl Harbour got attacked

Mhm.

@Mithrandir Have you read any books by Marie Lu by chance?
100% recommend read
She wrote the Legend trilogy, the Young Elites trilogy, and Warcross umm series? It only has two books
Warcross and Wildcard
Also on the subject of WWII, recommend Night by Elie Weisel. It's a memoir (short, bite-size reading) and tells the experience he and his father had in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Really touching memoir.

@North I don't think so, no. *adds to list*
@North Yep. I've read it (and I believe my parents have met him).
(Not entirely sure, though, I could be mistaken.)

That's amazing!

He passed away a couple years ago, didn't he?

10:45 PM
Yeah, July 2nd, 2016
One of my biggest fear is that people start forgetting about how bad the Holocaust was and forget all the horrors that people due to bigotry.
The memoirs help keep the stories alive, even if the survivors aren't.

For WW2 / Holocaust novels, I'd recommend The Book Thief, The Devil's Arithmetic, Milkweed, and A Boy at War. There are more that I have but I can't recall the titles at the moment.

I've read The Book thief and heard of Milkweed
adds to the already too long reading list
I'm on a Tolkien lore binge rn

Oooh, fun.
What have you read so far?

It's taking a while though, because how he writes is really hard to digest at first
I'm still on the Simarillion (cries)

I didn't find it too hard to get through. It's basically a history book.
Then again, I read the dictionary for fun.

10:54 PM
I meaaan, I read the Scrabble dictonary for fun
The Simarilion just gets difficult with all the characters

Mmm, yeah, I get that.

Also Frodo Baggins is a d*** and should've fallen into the lava with Gollum in the movie

o_o

C'mon like Sam does everything
Frodo gets all the credit
At least Sam becomes mayor in the LOTR book

Sam was the "true hero of the story", according to Tolkien, but it's not like the rest of the fellowship did nothing ;)

Q: Word Puzzle: Find The Maximum Words (+Easter Egg)

RiddlerSimilar to the heart of this, but with different rules, I have developed a new word puzzle. Partial answers which answer part of it correctly will be upvoted! Your objective is to find the maximum number of possible words which are 2 or more letters long. The puzzle is designed using all...

I'm still so pissed at the movie directors for not putting in the scene where Wormtongue basically betrays Saruman after Saruman tries to attack Hobbiton

"basically"

I mean that chapter was so awesome with the Hobbits actually getting armed and stuff
You can say he literally stabbed Saruman in the back

You mean the scene where Gríma stabs Saruman in the back? ;)
I've never watched the movies.

10:59 PM
It's not worth your time, tbh
I mean seriously, in the film they take a single chapter from the Two Towers into a two hour battle thing

I wonder what Amazon is going to do with their LotR TV series.

Also the Hobbit trilogy was actually such a money grab
Wait what now
Wow okay
Maybe one episode is one chapter from the book

Oh, you haven't heard about it yet?

Nope
Wow, they're really not letting any detail out
Also watched the new HTTYD movie and it's sooooooooo good

Oh? Haven't watched it yet.

11:08 PM
Watched it today

Faithfulness went out the window with the first one, though ;)

It's bittersweet, but it's good
@Mithrandir Wdym by faithfulness?

To the books.

Oh lol yeah

Aside from a couple character names, they've got absolutely nil in common.

11:10 PM
The movie though is very different from the novels though, so Imma let it pass
Yeah, they just borrowed a few characters and made their own story to it
Or used some of the character names

Riddler4 swimmers entered a round room with no windows and no doors, but there was a hole in the floor.
