I'm writing some puzzles for a bunch of smart friends, but I'm unsure if the puzzle is too easy or too hard. For instance, an anagram like this:
fangos theorem
Should be solvable by a human without any other hint? Or should I give a hint like:
If it is still hard, how can one get to the answ...
I started inserting the so far solved ones into the crossword, starting with the ones that were confirmed to be correct.

@Randal'Thor Special case: link to work in progress in a form that's more collaboration-friendly than a PSE answer. This is fairly commonplace around here. Presumably once the solution is complete it will be edited in to the answer (at least that's what's happened in every other such case I've seen). I personally wouldn't upvote such an answer until that editing happens and the answer itself has some content in it, but it's not really the situation that meta question is talking about.
Hmm, actually, strike the "collaboration-friendly" bit, because elias isn't letting other people edit it. That does remove rather a lot of the justification for accepting answers of this kind. Still, hopefully it will get de-linkified once elias is finished.
... In fact, he did finish (or thought he did; comments suggest that there may be some mistakes) and provided the resulting thing as an image for inclusion in another answer. So his work hasn't stayed link-only, and he's getting upvotes for solving part of the puzzle and providing a useful service to another answerer. Still, I think he should also put a copy of his image in his answer and will tell him so.
It's still possible to post a partial answer which includes one's progress so far without just linking to that progress elsewhere. As in fact all the other answers on that thread do. And a PSE answer can be collaboration-friendly if it's Community Wiki.
Another of the answers on that thread has literally been replaced with just a link to the top answer.
