and the other a cap cloud version
The one over Dhaulagiri is a cap cloud lenticular cloud
and the one over MaachuPuchu is the classical stack of plates. the one you posted in your question
and if you look closely Annapurna has one too which is a cap cloud

@uhoh European lenticular cloud you had in your question is a stack of plates
that means there are discontinuities in the humidity profile as you go up in the atmosphere. the stable layer is not reached until very much high in the troposphere.
also the lenticular cloud is in the Lee side of the ridge top. The one in Nepal over MaachuPuchu is right over the mountain top and is a stack of plates. Different circumstances have created the two
