Having at least some kind of fine manipulation ability (that others lack) is certainly reason enough for me to choose a subspecies. But the series seems to treat hooves inconsistently on that front, which would make the hypothetical choice much harder (and thus giving flight, another highly tempting option, a chance).

@vicky_molokh-unsilenceMonica It is a well know fact that hooves have magnetic properties that allow for manipulation of specific materials.

Current headcanon is that they react to orichalcum /mithril, so every dishware in Equestria has to contain those.
