At some point I stopped upgrading older berries.

There doesn't seem to be a cap after which upgrades cease being available though. Not sure why.

But what I meant is simply that since there is limited space, you will replace the older crops with newer ones, thus voiding the need for upgrades

@Derpy Eventually you seem to uproot old berries and replace them with new ones, at which point you cease upgrading old berries and start investing in upgrades of new ones.

@Derpy Consumes the more the more you upgrade it. It converts them to spores.

There might be mismatches, yes.

On the bright side, it only consumes seeds from adjacent fields.

So you won't run yourself into zero.
