Also if it was a mistaken launch or hit the wrong target that would explain the frantic "nope definitely a mechanical failure" talk they seem to be keeping to last i heard
Like they would even know that
I mean, if I was accused of launching a missile i didn't launch, i wouldn't bother to conjecture what actually brought the plane down
But I'm no expert
But seeing as they have no reason to believe so strongly that mechanical failure was the exact cause it kinda reads like embarrassed ashamed guilt to me
Like it was accidentall but was one of thier missiles
I mean, keeping in mind that I'm not an expert here, but planes could crash because of drunk pilots or terrorists on the plane too, mechanical failure and missiles are not the only two possible causes (IE my point is they were awful quick to blame mechanical failure with no ongoing investigation first)

But i also don't believe they had any reason to attack that plane on purpose

Oddly enough, she had that from the start of the game
I thought they could have slightly altered her look after the curse-thing, but that doesn't seem the case
Also, tinkerbat do not wear jackets - I checked.
so it probably was just a generic pirate thing and not a reference to a specific character.

I think they only changed her look with abilities
Like when she uses the pirate pistol or the hat or the sword or the boots
I think she even gets a pirate bandana but she only wears it when you use one of the pirate items?

well, first thing I though was "oh, nice, that is Laharl's Meteor Impact"
sadly, the artwork seems to imply that Cinderace will kick the fireball instead of riding it all the time.
