I don't really mind people knowing what browser games I've played or what shows I watch. I'd only really be concerned about anything that'd enable people to cross the barrier from online to offline, or anything more personal than that kind of stuff.
@AGirlHasNoName, I remember it was when I played back in elementary school. It was a big mix of very different people. In my class it was mainly about soccer and not being too interested in "strange things". I also found that the stamp collectors club had the same vibe :-)
I played in elementary school to. But then in high school I got made fun of for it and stopped. (I wish I hadn't and want to go back one day. I think that is part of the reason I come lurk around these parts sometimes.)
I'm 38 and some of my friends still play, but they mostly seem to play games with lots of rules and equipment. Magic also. I used to like more or less "rules free" games where we basically just sat around a table and made up a story together. Had some very imaginative gamemasters back then who where a little older than me.
Could be fun to try online rpg some day. But I remember our gamemasters being very creative at mixing the real world with the game. Arriving in full costume and makeup. Having someone turn off electricity at a certain point in the game. Best gaming experience I've had was when we didn't know that another group were playing in the same world as we did. The groups where brought together mid-game and we had no idea what their mission was.
@Wolff keep your eyes peeled around these parts :) most of the time, we'll star a post in the main chat room (RPG General Chat) that announces such things
