It's so incredibly important, especially during times as dark as these, that we never forget how Michael J. Fox ends his letters

6:33 AM
@BESW I didn't even know this XD

4 hours later…
10:18 AM
@BESW this was also enjoyable

@BESW Huh. Even though I saw Harry Potter before Sherlock, I still think of him as that soldier guy from Sherlock.

@Yuuki I think "sex abuse is great" is a slight mischaracterization of the demon power in question. I read it as "sex abuse [of a child often] establishes a power dynamic." Though let's be clear: I in no way want that sort of shit anywhere near any game I associate with.

@nitsua60 What on earth...
That doesn't decrease my wtfs per minute at all.

Oh, yeah, it's horrible in just about every way.
I just don't think they were portraying it as great (false and offensive beyond words) so much as powerful (lamentably and painfully true).

What exactly did they do?

Who?

9:25 PM
Like what were the exact rules they released?

Book of the Damned, I think?
(I'm no PF expert by any means; it's just come up in the whole "what the hell is Paizo doing about X, Y, Z" conversatinos of the last week.)

@nitsua60 ... So they personified sexual/emotional abuse?
@nitsua60 This is why evil-aligned rulebooks are always problematic.

It's actually dinner-time at the sheep-pen--I'll be around again after the kids are in bed.

Is...is that ostensibly for players?

9:31 PM
Because whenever someone decides to write an evil-aligned rulebook, someone always asks "what if we do <despicable thing>, that's evil right?"
@godskook I'm assuming it's supposed to be Pathfinder's version of the Book of Vile Darkness so probably.

BoVD is very explicitly DM-only.
So that analogy contradicts your conclusion.

Hmm, I've seen a number of people play evil/villain campaigns use the BoVD as players.
Or was that a different book?

"Says its DM-only" does not stop people from using something.
And there's some parts of BoVD that are common optimization suggestions among the TO-level optimization community.

9:46 PM
@nitsua60 because D&D is already too kid friendly right? X(

This is amazing. @kjhealy, @jtlevy, and @NatalieBrender, I salute you.
