If you don't mind a complete change of topic, I'd like your thoughts about why people keep posting homework questions. From what I've seen, most of them don't get good answers before they're closed. I've never heard anybody mention Physics SE in person in physics classes. Not many come back to post several homework questions. Do they search online for 'physics Q&A' or something? Also, is there any way to cut down on this source?

I've seen a lot about what we should do with homework questions, and the general consensus is that they aren't good for PSE. (I'm not asking a question on meta because I'd prefer a discussion over a discrete answer, and though I couldn't find any posts relating to this, it's likely there is one somewhere)
@Chair I don't think there's anything that we can do about this. If a student is already in a mindset where they think copying a multiple-choice question from their homework onto a website will be better for their education than reading their textbook, that student is not in a mindset to read a bunch of "about this website" meta-information and learn how our community works.
I mean, that's not the only type of low-effort homework question that shows up here, but it's one end of the spectrum.
