The homework policy is still confusing. The meta post I made about changing the name is still as highly upvoted as it ever was. What do I need to do to enact change?

@DanielSank : This is essentially caused by individual users (in this case @JohnRennie) calls it whatever they like or finds natural, e.g. homework. It seems that no central policy (such as the metapost) would be able alter what words individual users casually use.

@Qmechanic Somehow, I believe that changing the close reason text would eventually lead to users changing their diction.

@DanielSank : If after all this discussion about homework in the past, the rep. king of Phys.SE still doesn't use politically correct words for homework, we can't expect to educate other users as well. Also note that the close reason already says homework-like (rather than homework).

@Qmechanic How on earth does having a lot of rep indicate ability to use good language with regards to site policy?
JR has a lot of rep because he writes a lot of answers. His average rep per answer is 45. My average rep per answer is 133. How does that figure into your calculus of which users' behavior should inform our decisions about making policy more clear?
(I'm not out to compare myself against JR, but your argument that JR's behavior should influence our decisions about improving the written site policy is off the mark, in my opinion, so I felt the need to bring in some other data)

@DanielSank We'll return to discussion of the homework policy sometime soon, I'd like to say within the next month. I don't have a 100% clear plan yet, but I expect that at some point there will be a new meta post soliciting proposals of what to do about the homework policy. What you need to do is post your proposal there. I'll ping you when the time comes.

@DavidZ Is that a suggestion that I should not just make that post myself?

@DanielSank I didn't mean it to be, but since you mention it, yes, I would suggest that you not make that post yourself. I'm not saying you can't (and if you did, I would work with it), but I'm kind of "staking a claim" and saying I intend to do this within the next month. In doing so I will synthesize information from all the previous questions about the homework policy.

@DavidZ If you want to stake a claim I would like to make a suggestion: please make the question that you're asking clear and answerable.
I know you know this, it's just a reminder.
There was a previous run of related meta posts that didn't actually ask a question and so invited random op-ed's from the user base. We got nowhere.

Of course, but also keep in mind that "clear and answerable" has to apply for the community as a whole.
