Q: Why did the Big Bang produce hydrogen?

baponkarI know that first generation stars' main fuel was Hydrogen. I know the Big Bang happened at some point in time. Now if the strong force exists, then why aren't different, higher mass, number elements produced? why was there single proton nucleus like hydrogen?

Q: A bob hanging in an accelerating train moves backward. What is the force moving it backward?

mckong When the train accelerates, the bob would also accelerate with the same magnitude and direction as the train. From the free body diagram, only tension and weight are exerted on the bob. I understand how to relate the "horizontal component" of the tension to the acceleration of the bob. It moves...

Q: How does an AC circuit get anything done?

user247834if alternating current switches directions back and forth periodically it seems like to me that current would go forward a bit and then almost immediately back track the exact same distance, if this is the case then how does AC ever get to where we want it to? Could I be misconceiving AC in some ...

Q: What will happen to a ball kept on a frictionless inclined plane?

IntellexI was wondering about this question since I learned about rolling motion in the chapter on rotational mechanics. I was unable to come to a solid conclusion due to the reasons mentioned below. The following diagram shows a ball on a frictionless inclined plane and the forces acting on it: The ...
