15:24
@DarkMalthorp I'm uncertain that Matthew subscribes to the belief of reliance on Church Fathers as much as I do. Ultimately regardless of what a church father says, (correct me if I'm mistaken) Matthew is very likely to say "but the Bible is very clear, and many church fathers believed in the young earth concept"
Focusing on ages, dates, years, etc is not very theological from my perspective though which makes it an intellectual effort. Which is not the same as a spiritual effort.
It doesn't matter in which exact year Christ was born, -2BC or 6AD or whatever. He did live. It also doesn't truly matter the exact date of Easter (i know the early church had a lot more debate about that) it matters that Christ did die for me. The later aspect overshadows the former in importance. Similarly it does not matter in what order, in how many minutes, days, or years it took for the miracle of creation... it matters that God created All.
One can get lost in dangerous thoughts like "it must be literal" to the point of forgetting "I need to have a relationship with God"
"it must be right" when it is "more than correct" it is beyond correct. God Is.
