i think my problem in both redactle and semantle is i develop tunnel vision

like from there i literally went fucking spoiler

one thing i forgot is that the redactle pages are from a subset of "vital" wikipedia articles. i.e. our guesses of spoiler (which in my case was attempted to be a stab at the answer, not just to reveal more clues) was probably too specific to be the answer

so of course my next guess was even more particular

and it doesn't help that usually what you can infer before making any guesses at all narrows it down by domain so you get in the mindset of finding something in that domain
