7:45 AM
@ElectionBot what is the election status

The election is currently in the nomination phase with 3 candidates.

@ElectionBot how is candidate score calculated

The 40-point candidate score is calculated this way: 1 point for each 1,000 reputation up to 20,000 reputation (20 points); and 1 point for each of the 8 moderation, 6 editing, and 6 participation badges (20 points)

@PauloCereda It seems that the bot is more friendly this morning ;-P

@Rmano looks like it :)
@ElectionBot had your coffee?

7:59 AM
It's not my job to please you, no.

OI
@Rmano ^^

@PauloCereda A bit on the nervous side. Too much coffee, I fear...

@Rmano ooh
@ElectionBot had your tea?

Well, here's another nice mess you've gotten me into!

@ElectionBot can a duck be a moderator?

@ElectionBot what is @JosephWright's candidate score

The 40-point candidate score is calculated this way: 1 point for each 1,000 reputation up to 20,000 reputation (20 points); and 1 point for each of the 8 moderation, 6 editing, and 6 participation badges (20 points)

1 hour later…
9:31 AM
@PauloCereda you can look them up here: data.stackexchange.com/tex/query/1483199/…
so looks like @AlanMunn's score perfectly fits in :)
data.stackexchange.com/tex/query/1488311/… says @lockstep would be the perfect candidate :)

@samcarter ooh

I'm voting to redesign the voting site like this: m.media-amazon.com/images/I/…

9:48 AM
@samcarter ooh

2 hours later…
11:18 AM
@PauloCereda sorry, not how it works right now yet (but we are working on making it possible to use usernames), it uses chat ids, chat URLs, site ids, and site URLs respectively - in addition, you also need to be a moderator (or a developer) to request candidate score for others (thanks for catching a case where it should not respond with how candidate score is calculated, btw)
@ElectionBot alive?

I'm alive on electionbot3.samliew.com, started on 2021-10-20 11:13:13Z with an uptime of 349 seconds.

what is the candidate score for 6485?

@OlegValter The candidate score for user Paulo Cereda is 33 (out of 40). The user is missing these badges: Cleanup, Constituent, Copy Editor, Marshal, Refiner, Reviewer, Steward.

what is the candidate score for 881?

@OlegValter The candidate score for user Joseph Wright is 37 (out of 40). The user is missing these badges: Deputy, Marshal, Steward.

11:21 AM
@OlegValter Cool, thanks! :) We used to have our own bot in the TeX chat, so we are sort of inclined to have fun with bots. :)

@PauloCereda NP, we are expanding on the features of the ElectionBot - it is currently handling 5 elections at the same time :) What happened to the bot in the TeX chat, btw?

@OlegValter I rewrote it a couple of times, then I got busy with other stuff. :) It originally ran under my account with a JS wrapper, then I moved it to another implementation in Java.

This was the bot. :)
This was the original interface for it: tex.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/2923/…

@PauloCereda ah, the usual lack of time is the culprit :) may be worth getting it some exposure to get a maintainer that will help bring it back up (maybe posting its introduction on Stack Apps)! Ours is written in Node.js

11:38 AM
And now for something completely different - The election is in the nomination phase, and currently there are 3 candidates. I can answer commonly-asked questions about elections (type @ElectionBot help for more info).

@samcarter great!
@ElectionBot What is my candidate score?

@CarLaTeX Your candidate score is 37 (out of 40). You are missing these badges: Cleanup, Constituent, Marshal. Perhaps consider nominating in the election?

@ElectionBot No, I'm altready too busy, sorry, but I was curious

There will be no more free will, only my will.

@ElectionBot skynet?

11:49 AM
Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn.

@ElectionBot rude

@OlegValter Cool!
@PhelypeOleinik vvv
- Smithers, are they booing me?
- Uh, no, they're saying "Boo-urns, Boo-urns"

@PauloCereda LOL

@ElectionBot Can I vote for more than one candidate?

11:58 AM
@CarLaTeX since this is not the part of the responses, I'll act as its doppelganger here: under the Meek STV voting method, you rank candidates in order of preference. Surplus votes are transferred between candidates to ensure a more even distribution of votes. You still have only one vote, but it can "jump around" in order of your preference. You are also not required to rank all of them

@OlegValter Thank you for the explanation

@CarLaTeX NP - some day the bot will be able to answer those too. STV/Meek STV responses were added, like, literally two days ago, so there is a long way to go :)

@OlegValter great!

12:14 PM
@PhelypeOleinik LOL
