Hi! A friend of mine asked me if there is an app to automatically factory reset the device after X number of failed screen unlock attempts? I know it is quite simple if the device is rooted but they cannot afford to root. So, does anybody here knows a solution?
@JourneymanGeek Yes, but my friend doesn't want to root, neither did they ever root the device or learnt much about it. And I'm pretty sure root access is not necessary because a device administrator app can factory reset the device.
@JourneymanGeek not necessarily. Does Google Play Services require any authentication (in the device) when remotely wiping the device? There are also related apps which remotely wipes the data. They can't rely on the user explicitly agreeing to the request (in the device) every time a data wipe is requested. Authentication is optional.
