She also said for future reference please don't take photos/even look at photos of this sort of thing, it's disrespectful to the gods and the culture

That's okay @blutorange! Yes, whenever I visit a temple, I never take photos of the inside; the outside is fine.

And photos of monks is a no-no unless you ask them first, but that probably applies to most people
