I don't know if the chat is still active here or not but right now, I'm doing my research on the glyph origin of 商 and so far from what I've found out, the character may be a depiction of firewood or some kind of wooden sticks placed upon a table for the purpose of burning it to sacrifice the Antares star.
Doing further research into finding connections with the Antares star in the Shang dynasty, I found out about the roles of the star during the Shang dynasty along with some oracle bone and bronze scripts of 商 adding in circles to possibly depict the stars.
Is there a connection between the Antares star in ancient China during the Shang dynasty? I would like to know more about it for my research on the glyph origin of 商.
