Journeyman Geek
curtains tommorrow, also have a (cheap, relatively simple, fairly dumb) robo vac I need to let loose tommorrow
naw, need furniture
I made a 'mistake' and had my chair delivered to my parents place
user9517
We have a Eufy X8 robovac - helps a lot with the cat hair and straw from the horse yard
Journeyman Geek
I've gotten a TP-link Tapo R10 plus...
the plus is for the 'nicer' self cleaning dock

A robovac will find those floors easy to work with
Journeyman Geek
yup
I tested it on mom and dad's place (which has a huge living room)
other than one escape attempt and mom going "The poor thing has been cleaning the floor for the last hour.... just... let it rest"
user9517
We have to be careful to close the door from the lounge into the sun room as there is a small step that it gets stuck on.
It does a fairly good job
Journeyman Geek
Oh this went over the rails of the sliding glass door we have and almost went and investigated the kitchen
user9517
Downstairs apart from the sun room transition we let it roam free. Upstarirs we have a couple of virtual no go zones - in particular at the top of the stair
Journeyman Geek
I need to look at that if my parents get one...

The other is in front of a full length mirror - it confuses the laser
Journeyman Geek
mine dosen't have a laser
it just bumps angrily into things
user9517
I think the laser helps it bump into things carefully
Journeyman Geek
Yes
but its funnier to have a blind angry robot vac :D
(if my dad's getting one, we're getting the laser equipped version)
user9517
Ours has been known to eat USB cables and get stuck
Journeyman Geek
oh man
this got stuck on an ethernet cable
and beeped angrily at me
user9517
10:23
I only have one ethernet cable here and it is well out of reach
Journeyman Geek
this was what the ISP laid down when they switched from cable TV to IP TV
its MOSTLY covered up but there's a bit they got lazy on
I'll tuck it up under the cabinet its running under and it should be fine
