@Scott You forget to mention in your analogy that you live on a desert island with only one other human being, a monkey and a parrot around. So you don't really have much choice.
hello, please help me. should I tick this before starting drawing? so that all the stroke remain same? but even if it's ticked, stroke becomes thick/thin, sometimes I untick and thing gets normal. so am confused. should I tick it before dealing with stroke or during the drawing?
@NeverLookBack It's for when you scale objects. Do you want the strokes to scale along with the object or do you want only the path to scale but leave the stroke widths. No right or wrong setting. Shouldn't affect what you draw.
@NeverLookBack Example... you draw a rectangle and put a 1pt stroke on it. Later, using the bounding box, you enlarge the rectangle along with the rest of the artwork.
With it ticked, the stroke weight will increase upon the enlargement. -- Without it ticked, the stroke weight will stay at 1pt.
Why it matters... sometimes if you draw something then scale it... is it's unticked strokes can become too thin or thick. If it's ticked strokes will remain in the same proportion as they wee before scaling. -- all this goes applies to effects as well with that tick box.
