they had to find a sentence aimed at kids learning to read, with a protagonist and some action verb

e.g. The squeaky piggy is very messy.

and then something has to happen when the card is opened, based on a bunch of examples of mechanisms I gave them: sliders, wheels that turn, etc.

It was a lot of fun!

Cool. I used to make pop-up and slider cards.

I think one of the key takeaways was that you can't just rush a thing like this

because the mechanism just falls apart

and the fun part for me is I dont have to dig through Indesign files to check everything that's been done wrong

Guys how do i find resources about designing offline (paper) forms?

I've searched like hell but all i get are web forms :/

There's a few templates in word but none of them are close to what I wanna make

@AayushAgrawal what exactly? Because designing a magazine is completely different from a newspaper, which is completely different from a concert poster although they all are paper.

@PieBie I suspect "forms" means "a form you fill out with information and then submit," like an order form or a request form or the like.

ah, I understood 'forms' in a more generic meaning, as in 'forms of paper media'

@AayushAgrawal I would suggest searching for phrases like printed form, and design guidelines.

@AayushAgrawal I'm not sure if you have a specific type of form in mind but maybe look for subscription inserts or simply PDFs meant for printed forms like tax stuff for example

Not guidelines per se but after looking at a few of them you should be able to extract some patterns
