Q: Prevent text from overriding in Sketch

PeterI have a vacancy card with fixed and negotiable salary. They can be switched using overrides. But when I change salary to negotiable I don't want text in that symbol to change. I want it to be locked from changes and display "negotiable salary". However, when I type custom text in fixed salary sy...

@DᴀʀᴛʜVᴀᴅᴇʀ figuring out where to draw the line for too broad wasn't what I was hoping to get at, so I don't really have much to offer for your meta post

hey @JohnB

hiya

have the 5 'o clock shadows been adding up yet? :P

I tried cleaning up the neck line this morning to make it look less like stubble and more like a beard but it definitely just looks like I haven't shaved
oh well :P

🙊

@WELZ you're on Windows, right? Or do you chat on your phone

Depends...

specifically right now

Right now I'm on W7.

how do you produce emoji there?

is there a way to enter emojis easily on W7?
:D
I'm not the only curious one

12:54 PM
nope

my method when I'm on Windows is usually "google for the one I want then copy and paste"

even though I'm a big fan of old-fashioned emoji with just characters, some of those newfangled whippersnappers tend to come in handy sometimes

There's a userscript I had which made a button for SE chat - I'll sometimes just search on google the exact emoji and c/p etc. Windows 10 there's a shortcut (Winkey+:)

ohh I didn't know about the Windows 10 shortcut, I'll try that when I get home

eh, my main machine is W8

12:56 PM
It doesn't seem to work on some Windows 10 computers... so I'm not sure how(what) to "activate" it
@Vincent :O

what's so :O about that? :P

it looks like it was part of the recent-ish Creators Update

(the update that made my monitor not work -_-)

(those are the best updates)

12:58 PM
It has some annoying flaws on that script - so I just stopped using it - but it does work

@WELZ I just realised you gave me a +50 bounty!
for an answer I didn't even think was that good haha
:)

That, took a while....
I loved that answer

Cai
I don't really check my achievement thing.... I still have this ^

Oh, wow!

Cai
Yeh that's over a long time... I just havn't clicked it in a week or two

Wait! How'd you figure out then?
Now I'm intrigued.

Looked at my actual profile

2:35 PM
graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/users/120603/corinna she's posted 5 answers (in 4 hours) all linking to (her) article (that she wrote - based off username)

maybe not outright spam, but very spammy indeed

IF they posted 1, maybe 2 - whatever... but this is already 5 and I don't think they're stopping anytime soon.

morning
@JohnB no issues CAI left a good answer to what I was hoping to acheive
in the meta post linked this stands out:
...but every time I ask someone else to interpret them, I hear, "Oh, those are for questions that don't show enough effort" -- That's because people who put effort into their questions can usually describe their problem adequately and demonstrate a minimal understanding of the problem. The lack of these two things generally demonstrates lack of effort. — Robert Harvey Dec 9 '13 at 21:21
@Cai thanks for linking that meta, good read

2:50 PM
A user just edited into this question - this image and the question just became one huuuuuge scrolling page :D (he edited it right out... )
Comment: "oh ok then" -- I flagged as NLN and was declined... 😕🤔

@WELZ the age of the comment wasnt long enough for the person it was intended to see it. I'd advise allowing almost 48 hours before flagging a comment of it's type

Ok, fair enough.

ya, think the age of it was like 30ish minutes, too early to be flagging that, to me that is.

It looks like they made a new user since they couldn't post anymore.

that can be solved.

3:00 PM
or they got their colleague in to the game. Anyway, this has now graduated to full out spam

;)
and it's nuked. If it continues make a meta post so others are aware. I do not mind the answer but in the last four hours that user has pasted the same link 6 times and after being encouraged to not spam still continues to post the same link.

I didn't realize you deleted the first user - I custom flagged, wasn't sure if we were classifying as spam yet.
I'm going to 'watch' that article link in SmokeDetector so that it'll be caught there.
They can be flagged as spam, correct?

no, someone else flagged it, read all six, saw where another mod noted to the user, then within 30 minutes left the same answer so I took it as they were going to continue and nuked it
if they continue to post the exact same answer and link I'd flag it as spam
unless anyone else has an objection

even if the article was somewhat useful or relevant, they kinda burned their bridges by spamming it so aggressively, especially after being warned

3:18 PM
anyone in here messing with React?

Q: Repair extended Image

AebianI have extended an image: Now when zooming out it is like this: It is clearly visible that the extend part wasn't part of the picture. Do you have any clue how I can fix this? I'm just trying to let the image look like it has never been extended, so remove of the line and such in the middle. ...

3 featured questions, wow!
