Most active editors among candidates: main, meta.
Although this query includes edits on user's own posts - unlike the number shown in the profile. So that number is probably a better estimate of how much a user helps with editing.
Liviu Nicolaescu: 55 posts edited
Tim Campion: 36 posts edited
Asaf Karagila: 165 posts edited
Daniel Loughran: 7 posts edited
Alec Rhea: 9 posts edited
Carl-Fredrik Nyberg Brodda: 34 posts edited
Pedro Tamaroff: 9 posts edited
mick: 0 posts edited

@MartinSleziak I'm confused by the final numbers you posted here, are they on main, or meta, or both, and do they include tag edits or self edits?

There are several places where you can see number of edits.
For every user you can see "xyz posts edited" on their profile page. Then in activity tab you can choose revisions.
All these numbers are a bit different, I do not know all details from the top of my head.
Obviously, the activity tab shows all edits you've made. (I am not sure whether 10k+ users will also see the deleted posts in that list.)
I vaguely recall that for some purposes, tag-only edits are not counted.
And in some places, edits to your own posts are not counted.

A: Where can I see how many posts have I edited?

Cody GrayYes, there certainly is a place where you can check this: Click on the "Users" tab in the main navigation bar. Click on the "editors" tab. Select the "all" filter. Search for your user name. When you see your account listed, look at the fourth line, which will tell you the total number of pos...

If the above answer is correct, the list of editors counts all posts.
> However, do note that the number reported here is showing all of your edits, including those made to your own posts and multiple edits to the same post. It is therefore not a very good measure of one's eligibility for badges such as Strunk & White or Copy Editor, but it does provide a general idea.
@AsafKaragila The numbers I have posted about are the ones shown in the users' profile. For example, you can see "165 posts edited" in your profile page.

@WillSawin Just to make sure we're on the same page, the accepted answer to this question indicates that a primary happens if there are 10 or more candidates. I have no idea how universally this rule holds -- does it apply in our case?
@MartinSleziak Interesting. I had assumed that I would be unusual in that the vast majority of my edits have been to my own posts. But if I'm reading the numbers right (basically, I'm assuming that the numbers on the SEDE query that Martin posted initially include edits to one's own posts, and the final numbers he posted do not), that's not really the case -- the same is true of all the candidates except perhaps for Carl-Fredrik, who has made 34/89 edits on others' posts.

2:09 PM
@TimCampion You should keep in mind that the linked SEDE query counts edits rather than posts.
However, what is a bit unclear to me is that the SEDE query returns 89 edits, while the profile page (revisions tab) only shows 46 revisions.

@TimCampion I think this page says "more than 10", not "10 or more". (I guess the primary brings the number down to 10). I assumed it applies in our case, but I don't think I had any special information about this - I just clicked the various links on the election page
I agree with Catija is not necessarily a good thing - I just thought it was an interesting thing to watch for. In any case, I posted that when there were 8 candidates, and the number seemed to be increasing slowly but steadily, but since then the number has been flat as people have been leaving and joining at equal rates.

These queries should count edits on posts by other users: main, meta.
It's still unclear to me why there are different results from SEDE and different numbers from the site. :-(

2:27 PM
@TimCampion I'll ask about whether we can add a character count warning. :)
I'm not particularly a fan of the new editor, either... but they decided to use it here so that we don't have to come back to these pages later to add it once (if?) we do make it network-wide. That said, it sounds like a preview pane of some sort will be added in, so hopefully this is the only MO election where this will be an issue.

Martin, would you be comfortable posting these statistics as an answer to a question on meta? I feel like these stats are relevant to the election and interesting, and I could boost my meta-questions statistic by one... ;)

@WillSawin To explain - primaries cut the voting period (normally 8 days) in half - the first four days are the primary (Monday-Friday) and the second half (Friday-Tuesday) are voting - which means that people have to remember to come back on the weekend Or Monday/Tuesday to actually fill out their ballot - and a lot of people may think that the primary was already serving that purpose. :)

Oops, I'm somehow logged into an account I made to ask a healthcare question for my fiancé a while back, my bad -- this is Alec Rhea. I am being open with this because it is my understanding that multiple accounts can be viewed as a potentially bad thing; I have never used this account on MO or any site besides money.stackexchange to ask a question about medicare/medicaid.
I made the account to ask the question anonymously, but I feel that the need for transparency here supersedes my desire for anonymity in the above account.

5:09 PM
@Catija Oh, interesting, I had guessed it would make the election longer.

@MartinSleziak Forgot to tag you last time; would it be alright to ask a question in meta requesting your statistics be posted there?

5:46 PM
@AlecRhea TBH I am not really sure about those statistics related to editing - since the numbers I got from SEDE differ from what I see on the site.
My opinion is perfectly fine to discuss thing here in chat. (After all, this is what the chatroom is for.) Of course, anybody can use those SEDE queries as they see fit.
Other than editing, so far I have only posted citizenship score and number of posts. chat.stackexchange.com/search?q=query&room=122425
If you have an idea about some statistical measure that could be useful, let me know - if I am able to find something like that and if I have enough time, I might post SEDE queries here in chat.

@Catija Thanks for looking into the character count thing. It's nice to hear that SE is thinking of putting in a preview pane for the rich text editor! I appreciate that that would be a significant and potentially complicated commitment, especially if its presence / absence ends up being a difference between different sites. And apologies; I think the tone of my comment was a bit sullen -- I mostly just wanted to mention that the use of the rich text editor did not slip by unnoticed :)
@Catija On the topic of feature requests for the election interface, I also suggested here that there should be some sort of automatic link between the candidate statement and the candidate's answers at Q&A. Just in case you missed that.
I'm not sure if I should post these to bug reporting for the election interface.

6:41 PM
So now there are nine candidates - Stefan Kohl joined.

6:58 PM
@MartinSleziak I wasn't proposing the editing statistics specifically, but rather all the statistics you've posted so far; total post count on meta and the main site, total edit counts, and any other data you may find relevant (or which you are kind enough to look up for other inquiring users)
The reason I proposed moving it to meta is that I think these chatrooms have significantly less visibility than posts on meta and these statistics (taken in aggregate, in particular about overall posts on meta in my opinion) are probably of interest to voters.

@TimCampion It may be a regression - there's an Meta SE post from 2012 saying that we added a character count and - at some point - it seems to have been lost. Not certain when. :(
@TimCampion Actually, starting today (with future elections) the questionnaire answers will be on the election page, not on a meta post, meaning that there won't be a reason to link them at all. Y'all just happen to be the last election without that feature.
@TimCampion Feel free to mention the character count if you want, though I have mentioned it internally already. :)

It seems clear to me that there are more than 3 candidates who would most likely do a good job as moderators. Are we expecting to have further discussion about the candidates beyond what's already in the questionnaires to try to influence votes?
A small comment which here might be the best place for: The "Suggestions for nominees" and "Question Collection" pages are currently featured on meta, and perhaps shouldn't be. The "Questionnaire" page is currently not featured, and perhaps should be.
