Random question about how ASE works-- I think I asked this once before but forgot-- let's say I go leave some comment on some answer-- let's say my own answer-- who besides me might be automatically notified of that activity? Or if it is someone else's question or answer, who else besides that person might be automatically notified of that activity? Is there some way to display questions or answers sorted by "most recently active" that includes all activity, even comments?
I have noticed that you can select a specific ASE user and look at a screen showing all their activity, including comments, but that's not quite what I'm asking about here--

Another random question-- is it common for people to delete their accounts? In at least one case there was a question with a nice answer but now the user name for the answer has been changed to one of those names like "user434234" -- I wonder why he decided to delete his account? Why not just visiting the site, if you've lost interest?

(Meant "Why not just stop visiting the site, if you've lost interest?")

@quietflyer if your comment includes a handle, the owner of that handle will be notified, otherwise I think it's just the owner of the post you commented on
@quietflyer no, because comments are ephemeral and can be deleted at any time, according to general SE guidance
@quietflyer that doesn't indicate the account is deleted. Possibly dissociated. Possibly the username was edited for some reason

@RoryAlsop What exactly would "dissociated" mean in this context?
Anyway about the whole comments thing, sometimes it seemed that I'd leave a comment under an old question or answer, that was my own, and all of a sudden there would be other people commenting too. Even though the item was way way down on the list of active questions. Maybe just was complete coincidence.

@quietflyer Sometimes people want a post unlinked from their account. Or an account unlinked from their network profile
For various reasons

@RoryAlsop OK, thanks.

@quietflyer Community can bump for various reasons - that might be one. Not sure - there is an FAQ on this on Meta.SE

For a while I was in the habit of leaving comments under some of my old answers to note future changes I intended to make at some point when enough had accumulated to justify an edit-- at least one user seemed to really find this bothersome-- but I'm having a hard time seeing how this would ever pop up on anyone's "radar screen" and why it would be objectionable--
Certainly it's become abundantly obvious that thing to actually avoid at all costs, is frequent minor edits, as I've had several answers locked for this.

@quietflyer edits bump a post to the top of the front screen - that can be very annoying as it pushes other posts down

Yes, I do understand that. Hence the whole point of using comments as a tool to help save the changes for some later date when the change was actually justified due to significant new content added, question being bumped up by other activity from other people, etc. Of course I do understand that in theory at least there is a risk that those comments might get deleted--
Anyway that's about it for now I guess, thanks

@quietflyer no worries. I'm killing time - quarantined in my room until PCR test results come back - so I don't even get 3 feet from my chair
