@DeltaLima likewise / @Shalvenay yeah my connection (landline based) is pushing the limits of fiber and tech, and I'm getting half that D/L, abysmal U/L, though better ping
if one wants (as a customer) enterprise-level connection (~900 mbps), then it's off to South Korea or UAE :D
time stamp ^^^ to FAA mention, few things from that video:
1. the WAAS payload is but one of many transponders on that eutelsat, the rest is mostly sat tv -- I would have thought it's a dedicated sat like GPS
2. "experimental landing" LOL
3. the 2nd payload release footage at the end is gorgeous
4. second stage to 100 km, the rest to 36,000 km is on ion thrusters -- wow
5. no social distancing and masks :D

re no.4, make that 930 km, and incoming Q:

Q: How long does it take to go from GTO to GEO on ion thrusters?

ymb1Watching this 2016 launch of a Falcon 9 with payloads to ultimately GEO, the second stage did its job at what the commentators described as GTO, with a perigee of ~930 km. The ion thrusters (XIPS-25) are described as having a thrust equal to the weight of a sheet of paper on Earth. How long do th...

maybe it'll survive without a dupe
