So, this post was in the reopen queue: aviation.stackexchange.com/q/50757/1467 (aviation.stackexchange.com/review/reopen/32299) but the edit of the OP invalidated the queue (????). Now the OP is raising mod flags to get it reopened, I would prefer if someone would have a look at it. Does anyone agree that it should be reopened?

8:33 AM
ah, found out why the queue got invalidated: https://ell.meta.stackexchange.com/a/3351/20897
tl;dr: if you edit a post, that goes/is in the queue AND then vote to reopen, the queue gets invalidated.

9:26 AM
@Federico I think it should, but my reopen vote will be binding.

I voted, but I also agree with this comment:
This question should probably be refined towards either "why have they not seen more export success?" or "what are the disadvantages of coaxial rotorr on attack helicopters? (making it extend to other Kamov designs, not just the 52)" — AEhere yesterday
is the question about coaxial rotors, or is it specifically about the Ka-52?

10:09 AM
@DanHulme eh, but the question has been edited according to that comment. See the first version of it.

lol, tbh I prefer the original version of the question

I think that the "more export success" should not even have been suggested, it is easily opinion based (how do I distinguish between politics-based and technical decisions here?)

well, the point that the reasons might not be entirely to do with the aircraft itself could be part of a good answer

@Jamiec there are currently 3 reopen votes, yours would be the 4th. I'm adding my 5th and reopening.

1:53 PM
@Federico Thats fine. There were only 2 reopen votes when I looked which made me reluctant to use mod powers.

The Dude is back, busy "innovating".
LOL.

3:57 PM
Serious question: At what point does this guy actually get banned? He is toxic to the board, has added nothing, and refuses to even consider changing his approach.
What would be the line he would have to cross?

sooner or later he'll get question banned if he continues

I don't know if it's on purpose but he asks one or two reasonable questions along with the far-fetched ones.
Which seems to keep him in the green.

Well, I think he just threatened me.
Is that enough?
"keep hunting my questions to vote down or to close and you will see"

I think he's just saying you can't stop his "innovation."
He already failed to get the mods to "punish" people for closing his questions, so I don't know what he thinks is going to happen.

Q: Internet Cyber stalking for sabotage

securitydude5I have a problem with a cyber stalker whose sole intention is to ruin me personally and professionally. How can one protect themselves legally?

4:13 PM
@abelenky You are really stalking him :P

I'm just saying, clearly a paranoid, delusional, persecuted complex.

Let him have fun.

He is actively harming a site, that frankly, I participate in, enjoy, and do my best to enhance. His "fun" diminishes the experience of everyone else.

4:28 PM
he drops off the front page soon enough no?

I agree with abelenky. He's starting to go off the deep end.

5:06 PM
@abelenky is that actually a threat?
I agree that such questions are not productive and possibly uninteresting. We dealt with the laser guy, I think we can deal with this one.
If someone wants, you can make a meta post about "can-someone-debate-my-idea" questions.
Example:
on politics there is a special close reason for questions that seem to be good, but are written just to "prove a point" and not actually learn anything about politics. We could have a similar one for questions that are for "please tell me that my idea is the best in the world" (but please don't phrase it like that)

I don't know how he intended it, but a comment that reads, "if you keep doing X, you'll see some consequences" doesn't sound innocent.

5:32 PM
@Federico I already proposed this but it got shouted down.

Q: What should our policy be on "would this idea work?" questions?

Dan HulmeWe get occasional questions from people with no aviation or engineering knowledge, who have a "great" idea about how aircraft should work differently, whether it's issuing parachutes to passengers, putting CRTs in the cockpit to defeat laser strikes, or anaesthetising passengers. They tend to go...

Ahhhh so this is where you discuss and lobby hunting down my questions to close... the 3000 plus reputation crew interesting!!!

@securitydude5 Welcome to chat.

thank you

@DanHulme well, my proposal was exactly on the lines of the first sentences of the most voted answer there. I think that there is still romm for discussion

Welcome to chat. This is a good place for discussion questions that don't fit on the site.

5:45 PM
@securitydude5 welcome again. you already knew this place, though, you came here in february (chat.stackexchange.com/transcript/message/42913420#42913420)

Well thanks no tools to abuse and control others here
Well there arent that many experts here and I gather not many people will benefit from the answers if I ask them here
If I ask questions here I mean

The idea is to have a discussion about possible questions and decide which would be a good fit for asking on the site, and if any work is needed to make them a better fit.

@securitydude5 Generally, if questions aren't suitable for the main site, it's because not many people will benefit from them there either.

@DanHulme I mean how do you determine how long they'll be. You cannot start with some random lenthand say they will be this long there are many considerations what are the?
this is in reference to the question you asked me when I was last here and still on the subject, how would this question not benefit people on the main site?

@securitydude5 Well, some people (name in blue) can kick others out of the chat room, but we won't do that.

5:54 PM
What is the length and width of the slats and flaps of an Airbus A380 and how is it determined. Is that method of determination uniform for ALL aircraft
Gan's response what do you mean "how is it determined?" you can use a tape measure to determine it
Dan Hulme's response what do you mean "how is it determined?" you can use a tape measure to determine it
This question was voted down and closed, How did it not benefit people on the main site, like aircraft designers randomly decide the length shape of slats...

What was voted down and closed? The question on flaps was received well.

After the votedown and close bregade were defeated. But they were only just starting

@securitydude5 You don't "defeat" anyone when you improve a question so that it can be reopened.

If you had waited a bit and discussed Dan's question it would have been clearer from the beginning.

Im just saying there are people here that have convinced themselves all questions asked by me should be voted down and closed. The guy that actually answered that question posted a Meta about the Abuse yet he himself an expert learnt a lot researching and answering the question
If I could find or knew how to find the link to the Meta I'd post it here

Q: The community's reaction to bad questions

ymb1Per the comments on the most recent example, it seems like it's an ongoing issue that is bothering some users. Objectively there are far worse questions with plenty of up-votes, questions from established users. And questions whose answers are readily available online. But sometimes it's a matte...

@securitydude5 You have done quite a lot to give people that impression.

@fooot I think I should ask questions here then but what guarantee do I have the people on here will get me kicked out cause my questions here wont change as the main site. I will ruin their experience here too yet I genuinly need answers
@DanHulme Imost probably have done quite a lot but I promise you my intention was not to ruin anyone's exerience here. Its really hard to tell if a question will be recieved well or not at this site unless you an experts. I remember I did ask about 10 questions in succession. I was trying to build a model plane at the time.

6:58 PM
@securitydude5 Let's get this straight:
- The community doesn't have a problem with you, but some of your questions.
- The community does try to improve your questions.
- The community asks you to explain your point of view, so that the question can be improved.
- **NO ONE** wants to kick you out from the chat.
- Many of your questions are very well received. (Example: https://aviation.stackexchange.com/q/49447/65)
- There are several people who are always willing to help and do help.
