Coven of Cats is a D&D 5e compatible adventure that’s great for any age where you play as magical cats who have joined together to study the arcane arts and solve a mystery that’s plaguing the other cats in town.  It comes with everything you need to play, is wonderfully illustrated, and is purrfect for some cat-themed TTRPG fun! Q: What level should this version of Warp Mind be?

SeriousBriI have taken this spell from Pathfinder 2e, where it is a level 7 spell (I think here are 10 levels there though), and converted it into a 5e spell. I think it is still around the correct power level for a 7th level spell, but just putting this here to get some alternative opinions. Warp Mind: ...

Q: How does the Way of Mercy monk's ability Physician's Touch work exactly?

biziclopOn the 3rd level Way of Mercy monks receive the Hand of Healing ability: Your mystical touch can mend wounds. As an action, you can spend 1 ki point to touch a creature and restore a number of hit points equal to a roll of your Martial Arts die + your Wisdom modifier. On the 6th level this is e...

Q: Nymph's Kiss as a first-level character

SonGuhunNymph's Kiss is a feat from the Book of Exalted Deeds that states, among other things: Starting with the level when you take this feat, you gain 1 extra skill point per level. If I take this feat on my first level, do I gain a single skill point, or do I gain 4 skill points? Using humans' extra...

Q: Is this revision of the level 2 Transmutation Wizard feature balanced?

Disdyakis triacontahedronI will soon be playing a wizard who I intend to become a transmutation wizard. However, I find the transmutation wizard sorely lacking in power. To remedy this, I have begun creating a revision. The first step in this revision is to replace the features granted at level 2 with the following: Tran...

@ThomasMarkov It is! I'm going to move again very soon but I'm staying in the same general location so signing up to this gym will be fine :D

Yes, I admit that the Ceremorphosis question was born out of sheer curiosity after watching BG3 stuff, but heck, Illithids are surprisingly well fleshed out

@Trish Just one question after reading the first quote... how do "most [tadpoles die]" and mind flayers each "produce one tadpole twice in their life"? Are mind flayers slowly dying out with each generation? Are there just other ways of creating tadpoles?

Q: Are there rules that treat Ceremorphosis as an illness or curable/resistable infliction?

TrishThe Forgotten Realms have vivid descriptions of Ceremorphosis since at least Fiend Folio (2003) for most species, but The Illithiad (1998) before that shows Ceremorphosis of a Roper into a Urophion and deeper insights into the Illithid lifecycle. But that's not where the story began, just the old...

@Trish Gygax theoretically got inspiration from Brian Lumley who wrote originally in the Lovecraft/Cthulhu mythos. Dragon #78 had a somewhat disappointing ecology article, and I think Dawn of the Overmind? was a 2e Illithid adventure.
@JohnP The Illithiad or whatever the book was I referenced was 2e too.
@Trish That one I confess to not reading at the time.
ayup, it was like... a whole sourcebook on Illithids! first full description of ceremorphosis as far as I can tell so far.
