Update from yesterday: none of us actually have the prolonged type of stomach flu, thank heavens, so hopefully the variant going around is mild.

But my little brother did digital learning today anyways, because “I don’t want anyone to give me any germs for stomach flu. If I’m getting germs I want something where I can eat while I’m sick”

(Also the article mentions follies in passing and gosh but worldbuilding needs more follies. Sometimes the answer to "but what is your elaborate dungeon for?" is simply "a rich guy wanted to show off and it got out of hand and then he went bankrupt or overthrown and whoever got the land later tried to make it useful and several generations later here we are.")

It sounds like some kind of slang for a specific kind of tradesman or something

But that's just my reaction to how weird Brittish English is (and in before someone says all English is weird and that American English is weird, yes that is also correct)

(To be fair all forms of English have weird names for things that don't evoke what they mean except to native speakers of that English type, and I just happen to be personally used to the American versions and not the other ones)

Rokugan uses, if anything, japanese grammar, at times quite wrongly but they tried :3 but never new characters

Kara-Nur was the old Asian Adventures iirc

and with their TSR references, that is pretty much OA supplemental material. Rokugan and Kara-Tur had at some point a lot in common, but Rokugan got better

@AncientSwordRage That writing is bonkers. I MUCH prefer the The Dark Eye Dwarven Runes...

the authors of that script actually made sure that you could write that language somewhat efficient with hammer and chissle!

@Someone_Evil yep, they had some design goals though: runes had to be mirrorable to get a different rune, so one can encrypt the text by flipping runes in specific positions

also, Vocals would be not written often

BDPT are the same radical with different mirrorings from the same base. FZ(W), EO, GK, JX, LR, MN(Ng), SSch, A, U, I - they only used pretty much 11 radicals to create a full character set of 24 characters; and by making A, I, EO and U rare characters you get 20 characters with 7 base radicals.

hm, are questions about RPG scripts on topic? As in... Does it help considerably hinder the game flow to hand players texts that are actually written in the script of <insert game race> and <insert language>?
