Hmmm, not just unclear, but a "read me the book" question ... I think. I'd suggest more vtc so that it can get cleaned up ...

Man, I just had a DW session, where a party member went to the center of a bustling market and cast detect magic. I told them there was plenty of magical items, and they asked to see the cheapest magic items they could find. I lead them to a bargin bin where they could buy 5 magic items for a single gold.
Then I started listing some items that were certainly magical, but also rather mundane, I started with a cube with 7 sides, looks like a cube but it has the numbers 1-7 each written on a different side. ...
There was a string that could never be tied into a knot, pulling on both ends would always untie it no matter how tangled. ...
A ring of invulnerability, which does nothing for the wearer but is itself invulnerable. ...
Then the players started chiming in with ideas for items, and we compiled quite a list.
Some of the most fun GMing I've had in a while.

sounds fun indeed :D

@WW Lets you cast confound topologist.

W W
The string too.
A large portion of the items were topology jokes.

And the ring of invulnerability is great for, say, propping open doors.

W W
Might be, since it's round it might not be the best.
All the items surely could be useful, but none easily.
I'm certainly looking forward to how I the players can use them.

@nitsua60 I'm actually going to be a little busy with some IRL drama at our start time
Sorry
I didn't even think about how the two things clashed until now
You guys should go on without me I think
As long as you still have enough people tomorrow to do a session without me
@Shalvenay @KorvinStarmast @NautArch @MikeQ sorry about that, if it makes if feel any better this is the combination of a known commitment that wouldn't have interfered with our usual thing with something a family friend sprang on me just today.
I don't have much free time to rub together tomorrow

8:17 AM
@WW Rubbish magic items (and rubbish magicians) are among my favorites too, and I think your ideas are very good!
Once my players stole a little monkey statuette whose only magic was that when it heard a sufficiently loud rhythm it'd start to play cymbals with it. Cue the party hiding in the bushes from a marching hobgoblin army...

@kviiri One player suggested a pair of "entangled bells", where when one was shook only the other would ring. However these are a little to expensive so in the bargain bin there was one but it was missing it's pair. So now the party has a bell that will ring whenever someone in a far off land shakes their's. Something I'm certainly going to use when they are hiding in some bushes.

@WW I like the fact that it's going to be very useful if they ever find the second bell.
@WW Also, a ring of identification. When you attune to it, it engraves itself with your name, address, emergency contact and social security number so you can be identified when found mangled in some dark corner of the dungeon.

9:25 AM
@kviiri And the contact info for the priest you've pre-paid for your resurrection.

@BESW Might want to use blockchain technology to create a smart contract so the priest has to actually perform the resurrection to receive the payment

9:59 AM
@kviiri You could always just haunt him if he doesn't resurrect you :P

hey there @ACuriousMind

@WW If the character knows what the bells are supposed to do, they might try using the morse code to communicate with the owner of the other one. Only to discover that it's the BBEG (who has no idea either).

hey there @Zachiel, how're things going?

@Shalvenay Maybe I'll be getting that new PC soon. If it takes that much to decide upon what to buy, I dread when the new PC will be old too.
(Also, I'm not sure upon is the right word there)
lemme try.

WRITE 'hey there'.
SKIP
WRITE 'how are you, @ACuriousMind?'.

@Zachiel ah, good to hear that you might be getting that new PC soon, been more than long enough since our last session

@Shalvenay '"soon"'
Meanwhile, I'm looking at maneuvers: which do I want to take and how to have all the prerequisites. I hate building characters but at the same time I'd love being more proficient at it.

Q: What are "unregistered" members and why they are allowed to post?

enkryptorI often see the word "unregistered" as a part of a nickname: greenmonster15 (unregistered) An example — https://rpg.stackexchange.com/users/46936/greenmonster15 What does that mean? If it is just a somebody who are not registered on the site, why they are allowed to post questions? If a p...

@Shalvenay Hiya

@ACuriousMind how're things going?

@Zachiel print("Fine, thanks")
@Shalvenay Going quite alright

@ACuriousMind good to hear. we still on for later today?

@Shalvenay I wasn't aware we'd pinned down a date, but yes, I'm still free today

2:09 PM
@ACuriousMind yeah, we'll see if Pixie is available :)

@Shalvenay kk, around what time?

@ACuriousMind probably your evening but most of it depends on Pixie's schedule
