This has got to be a Tweet to Campaign By. Suggestions?
The Book Of Untold Journeys, as is its wont, has appeared at Bermondsey station. It seeks your stories. Proffer them at your own risk.

@BESW Tweets to Campaign By presents a way for players to introduce character backstories. The backstories will in no way be used against them by the GM, as is their wont.
Apropos of nothing, such spooky.

That poor dog is bleeding.

2:14 AM
@ProfessorLokiCaprion Actually we get to keep keep them until Friday the 3rd of January according to the Winter Bash 2013 blog post
but yup they disappear after Winter Bash is over
it's a once-a-year fun event and it is probably best we don't get all hung up on hats year-round

3:06 AM
Wow, lots of activity on the site.

3:16 AM
Where in the unholy hell did these hats come from?

3:36 AM
@Lord_Gareth It's Winter Bash!
Abby T. Miller on December 15, 2013

The gatherings of family and friends, the giving and receiving of gifts, the making and/or breaking of New Year’s resolutions – however you and yours celebrate, the end of a calendar year heralds many traditions.

Here at Stack Exchange, we wanted to get each of you an awesome, personal gift, and mail it to you as our way of saying “thanks.” But our accountant pointed out that there are 4.5 million of you, which promptly reminded us that the holidays aren’t about gifts. The real spirit of the holidays can only be captured with… …

3:51 AM
I keep reloading the page, but nothing happens! I cleared my cache and reloaded, and nothing happened! Has Tweets to Campaign By gone on hiatus or something? Has the queue run out? I look forward to reading them! I've seen a few here in chat, but there's something about seeing it in tumblr as well ... Maybe I've got a gremlin interfering.

@BESW It's the Library!
So, Almost Human is pretty awesome. I missed out on it previously but the backlog has finally hit my on-demand.

4:11 AM
dang, I had to go to the third page of stars to find @Magician's blog...we're slacking off guys

Hahaha. My fault, I guess I've stopped writing things worth referencing.

@Magician was specifically looking for your old stuff on late level 4e play (IIRC you had some stuff on that that BESW used). We're actually just getting started on Paragon but combat takes forever

@waxeagle Make sure you're using MM3 monster math, paragon is where the old math starts to break down.

@Magician yeah, I'm not sure he's really minding where he's getting his monsters (pretty sure it's MV stuff which means it's MM3), just linked him the L1 damage equivalencies that should help a bit.

6:23 AM
@Alyksandrei Sorry, thought I had enough in the queue to get me through this patch.

6:58 AM
Also, it is very heartening to know that people enjoy the tumblr! I don't get much feedback on it.

4 hours later…
10:53 AM
I have secret hats.
I do not know why I have these secret hats.
I do not know what the secret hats mean.

@lisardggY I hear it's a secret

Ladies and gentlemen, the next Dr. Seuss.

I kind of like my secret hat.
I think I'll mention it in Chat.
Did I get it for upvoting?
Or for a question I'm promoting?

11:38 AM
I'm a snowman! :D

11:52 AM
@ProfessorLokiCaprion On a deeper emotional, psychological - nay, even essential level - aren't we all, in fact, snowmen?
No. We are not.
Because I'm a turtle.

My mind is blown.
This may be entirely due to the fact that it's early in the morning and I've not had coffee.

It's just past lunchtime here, and I'm having my coffee right now, and my mind is not so much blown as it has melted to a puddle.
Mostly due to a completely pointless two-hour meeting this morning.

Aren't all meetings?

Where the CEO (or whatever his actual title is) summarized the year, including strategic plans and acquisitions, and outlined the plan for 2014.
I, it must be noted, am not actually employed here, and am merely a contractor for a limited time.

[snuggles Prof]

11:55 AM
So my care-o-meter was showing remarkably low readings.
And I tried to avoid the meeting but was roped in so I got in at the last minute so I was sitting up front right next to the CEO so I couldn't even fiddle with my phone to pass the time.
So, you know, brain-puddle.

:3
But I do hate those "summary" meetings. We have them here every quarter, and EVERYONE has to attend. Everyone.
So we have the branch manager talking for an hour about sales and profit margins and our current trading profit, while a whole bunch of order pickers and truck drivers are staring blankly, wondering why the hell they need to listen to this when there's things to be done.

The only redeeming quality was the CEO's delightful Scottish brogue.

I really really hate this answer.
It mystifies the GM and idolizes the artist.
Artists are working blokes like everybody else, and everyone can be an artist.

@BESW I've known several people who subscribe to the RPGs-as-art school, and while I have agreed or disagreed with them on several issues (the importance of fun, for one), at least they didn't treat the GM as the artist and the players as passive audience.

And a good GM will share with his players his reasons for doing things, at least on a general level, because it's a collaborative process.

12:09 PM
Rather, they (well, "both of them", to be specific) viewed the group dynamic as the work of art in question, with all players being a part of its creation.

I appreciate the sentiment you're expressing, but you make it sound like players are passive audiences for the art of the GM. A "good DM" probably shares his motives with the players because he understands RPGs are a collaborative process. And a "good artist" is a hard worker who is constantly improving his craft, not a mystically perfect savant. — BESW 27 secs ago
In other news, sorry about the T2CB queue drying up for a couple days.

I, for one, am a mystically perfect savant, but I don't really see myself as a good artist.

I really do need user submissions in order to keep the tumblr cranking them out regularly.
Oh, my.

Q: YA novel about sister is alien with two hearts and assassins come

user1138184Plot of novel: sister is actually some alien planet's royalty but due to a coup d'etat she is surgically changed into a human and sent to live on earth in disguise. Unfortunately they get the wrong planet and gave her two hearts. An accident causes this to be revealed and now assassins are after ...

I wish this were about what it sounds like it's about.

The Pathfinder GM who recruited my wife and I is pre-genning characters for us; but I did tell him I wanted to be a Carnivalist and she wanted to be a Dirge Singer. Hopefully he'll take that into account!
@BESW Is that you, Jenny?

Can you imagine someone prepping to hide among Gallifreyan society and getting dumped on Earth instead?

12:18 PM
@BESW She'd be absolutely terrified of the President.

I was thinking Interstella 5555 from the description.

Her first clue something's wrong is that the President isn't a woman.
(Long live Lady President Romanadvoratrelundar!)

Logged into my ThinkGeek account for the first time in a while. Turns out the address I have listed is two apartments and 3 years ago.
Also one last name ago.

Wow.

[Changes names to "rdnagnumroJ" and chews on lisardggY]

12:26 PM
Just hope rohT doesn't show up.

Ah, I forgot I told RPG.chat to link to my RPG.SE account instead of my main SO account.

...reminds me of the very first one-on-one game I ran.

Chat.SE, Avner?

Yes, probably.

12:53 PM
Aww, Carnivalist doesn't start with a Sneak Attack... but I get a familiar. Hmmm....

But your familiar also gets sneak attack, which is awesome.

Flanking buddies!

You can sent your monkey to flank, and both of you stabby-stabby-stab anything to pieces.

I also have no idea if we're starting at level 1.
Or if he'll let me play a Carnivalist.

I can't imagine why it would be banned.

12:57 PM
I've no idea! I never played Pathfinder, or with these people.
They just liked my wife and I from our space game on Monday.

That's nice.

(Games... in... spaaaaaaaaace!)

I'm always interested in how other groups vet participants.

Did you synchronize your character concept with your wife? A pair of circus runaways?
I've only played one campaign with my wife, so far, and while we did decide on some links between our characters, it wasn't very serious, and didn't come up in play too much.
Mostly because I tried to avoid creating a relationship in-character, either positive or antagonistic, to avoid the already-existing natural bias to focus on her during the game.

Well, she has two ideas, actually. Either way, we're going to be siblings. Also, either way, I'm going to be the "bubbly" one and she's going to be somewhat morose (think April and Andy from Parks and Rec, if that helps).

1:02 PM
I had a couple playing in one game who made it a firm policy that their characters would never have any connection beyond what was necessary to get them in the same party.

Depending on what the DM allows, I can be bubbly and HAVE A MONKEY!

@ProfessorLokiCaprion Monkeys are a big responsibility. Can Bubbles handle it?

@BESW Our characters usually end up hating each other, when we're both players.
@BESW I'm confident! I'll keep my monkey forever!

(I am now imagining that your character is a Powerpuff girl who has somehow tamed one of her villains.)
4

@BESW OH! OH YES YES!!!

1:08 PM
Mornin

@Aaron, @GilesRoberts Hi!

Hello

@GilesRoberts What's new?

And hello, Giles!

1:14 PM
Anyone on here play Tekkit?

I don't but I'm looking for something to do.

@Metool Do you like minecraft?

Roughly.

Tekkit is a secondary launcher you can download that allows for a bunch of pre determined mods that work together to be downloaded with ease. You can also create your own mod packs.
@Metool I play on a Tekkit lite server called FiveKingdoms.
Tekkit lite adds many things, nuclear reactors, solar panels, electric furnaces, macerators which when you put or in them double the ores output.

Does it fix rendering so that my hand stops being black at certain angles?

1:19 PM
I have never experienced that.

@Metool Been sitting here trying to think of a joke for how "roughly" can be a play on Minecraft, but I got nothin'.

@ProfessorLokiCaprion so like Dwarf Fortress is the best I'm coming up with...and I'm not familiar with either game enough to know if that works :P

@waxeagle I don't even know Dwarf Fortress!

@ProfessorLokiCaprion Dwarf Fortress is... rather remarkable.
Slaves to Armok: God of Blood Chapter II: Dwarf Fortress (usually shortened to Dwarf Fortress) is a part roguelike, part city-building freeware video game set in a procedurally generated high fantasy universe in which the player takes control of a group of dwarves and attempts to construct a successful and wealthy subterranean fortress in a mountain. Along the way the player must face off with the dangers of their environment, invaders and sieges, vampires and other night creatures, and the occasional rampant megabeast, all while keeping their dwarves happy and their fortress alive. A seco...

hello everyone

1:33 PM
@JoshuaAslanSmith hiya

dwarf fortress is a game that sounds cool but is filled with so much tedium I cant get into it

@BESW Makes note to look that up. Sounds fun

It's a highly complex city-building roguelike written by a single guy who taught himself code for that purpose.

you phyically have to move all the stone you excavate out one boulder at a time which is fine for fantasy simulationism but pure drudgery for setting tasks

It has no win condition, only the certainty that while your dwarves will inevitably succumb to invasion, insanity, or hellbeasts, you can make the march toward defeat an interesting one.

1:34 PM
@JoshuaAslanSmith Sounds... Time consuming

@aaron its possibly a worse timesink then minecraft

@JoshuaAslanSmith ...I really don't know if that is possible.

its an interesting concept but its basically a time sink

DF is a management game defined by the ever-increasing complexity of what you must manage.

1:35 PM
I wish someone would make a good invasion/Tower defense mod for Minecraft.

(The writer's ultimate goal is to model everything.)

I plan on starting to make a TD mod for minecraft that utilizes reskinned monsters as towers.

@aaron conceivably you wouldn't need to mod it just built a big ol mechanism that simulates it
but that would be a folly lasting months and months

You place a block that acts as a spawner, The zombie spawner would have a block movement limit set by the quality of the spawner. Anything entering that area it would attack.
Skeletons would have more of a limit on movement but they are ranged so that makes sense.
I am going to setup tiers of quality spawners each giving a different buff or to a lesser extent all the buffs.

I've never played DF, but I've got friends who consult me for ideas like this one.

1:43 PM
Step eight: when bored, find out what happens when you demolish part of the mountain-pillar holding the ceiling up.
Step nine: if ceiling stays up, be amazed. if ceiling does not stay up: rebuild upon the ruins of your world.

According to my friends, so long as there's an unbroken support it'll stay up.
But if you cut through the pillar, the whole thing collapses.

@BESW proceed to step nine

Yup.

Had to share this

Heh.
All of these reindeer are replicants.

On Dasher, on Dancer, on Prancer and Priss!

Roybatty, the Red-Nosed Replicant.

On Comit, on Cupid, on Donner and Mecharaindeer 450!

@JonathanHobbs Can I have Mechareindeer 450 as my Carnivalist's familiar?

2:23 PM
lol

Mechareindeer 450 sneak-attacks for 210d6 of NUCLEAR ROCKET BLAST damage.
2

2:53 PM
@lisardggY yes it is kind of OP

@JonathanHobbs Nonsense. It's the other players' fault for not having an atomic familiar as well.

@lisardggY that is fair enough then actually

You don't bring a knife to a gun fight, and you don't bring a longsword +1 to a super-mecha-nuclear-clone-reindeer fight.

3:12 PM
THERE CAN BE ONLY CATZ

@JoshuaAslanSmith HOW ARE YOU GENTLEMEN!

@ProfessorLokiCaprion quite well, reading through the copy of Dungeonworld corebook that my GM gave me.
Will probably buy it with my own money after christmas
I really wanna make some classes, but his caution of, we need more experience with the system and the you need to know the rules better makes sense so Im trying to get both

A: Flanking and swarms in 4e

dpatcheryThe key thing I'd focus on here is the rules for flanking. Trace an imaginary line between the centers of the characters’ squares. If the line passes through opposite sides or corners of the enemy’s space, the enemy is flanked. You and your ally must be able to attack the enemy, whether ...

I did this as I read the comments section for that answer

They didn't seem to be quoting anything at all.
Is that why the facepalm

@Aaron I think it's the whole "I know 3.5 pretty well, so here is my intuitive interpretation of 4e rules"

@lisardggY Oh.

@JoshuaAslanSmith yeah, there's some bad info there

exactly
lack of quotes

3:43 PM
Does 4e require grids and maps and minis and stuff?

@lisardggY quoted the exact point where my stomach lurched
yes yes it does

Ah, well. I won't be doing that. :(

official grids and maps and minis are expensive. I would just make my own.

@ProfessorLokiCaprion why is that a turn off? plenty of easy to use online tools for free like roll20 that make it easy, but I can understand if you want a more narrative focused game/combat system

@ProfessorLokiCaprion requires grids, does not require minis

3:44 PM
@aaron oh, yeah you dont need to buy an WOTC stuff for that, they dont even make the official minis

gah there've been some really badwrong answers on the 4e loot question

true you can use anything to represent players and monsters

@JoshuaAslanSmith That's exactly why; I don't like having to deal with a lot of props and visuals and stuff. I try to avoid combat in general, really!

the one I posted on?

I use a pad of very thin A2 paper, and have a grid drawn on a thicker piece of A2 paper. slide it beneath two sheets of thin A2 paper, use those for map, doodle all over it.

3:45 PM
I lean heavily toward the "freeform" end of the scale.

@ProfessorLokiCaprion you can run 4e without combat but its also kinda missing out on the appeal of 4e so I understand

(two sheets is because the second one will absorb the ink escaping the first, so you don't get spots all over your grid)

I feel like dragon doo doo.

@JonathanHobbs how big is A2?

blehg

3:46 PM
@waxeagle 8x size of letter/legal or A4
wait, 4x

34x44ish then?

My friends have a whiteboard and I just need to convince them to let me score it with razorblades and using tape then india ink the score lines for a permanent grid

@JoshuaAslanSmith just go to wally world, but a 3 pk of pre-gridded poster board, use a sharpie to grid out the 1" grid and cover it in contac paper. That's my battle mat :)

(in the A scale, every size is half the size above it)

3:48 PM
@JoshuaAslanSmith Why not just get one of those magnet grids so you can still use it for other stuff

@JonathanHobbs so much more sense made than silly arbitrary named sizes

@JonathanHobbs That looks like the golden rectangle thing

@aaron I have seen and thought about those the india ink grid is cheaper if they let me do it

oh hai fib :)

3:50 PM
@Aaron i see the resemblance :)

A2 is closer to ~16x22 (4x larger is 2x the width and height)

apparently it is not precisely doubled the whole way O_O
oh wait, yes it is nevermind

false alarm our paper standards remain an impenetrable fortress of sensibility

@waxeagle that "I know 3.5 so let me just fill in the 4e blanks mindset" caused so many issue for my table with our first 4e gm.

3:55 PM
@JoshuaAslanSmith still causes some issues in my game
DM is a 3.5 guy who gets a bit...put out by the opyness of 4e

@waxeagle thats crazy, 4e has been birthed lived and is now retired. Should be 100 percent settled at this point
yeah our 1st dm had that issue too a bit
He literally told us we didnt need to take 18s in our main stat (after racial bonuses) and that well rounded characters were better
which having 16 in int and wis for an avenger is not terrible given its class features but I think it hurt the rest of the table a lot more

@JoshuaAslanSmith yeah that's not a good choice in 4e...

eventually we learned the system together especially once I and then other player got our own Insider accounts vs. sharing his I found the charop collection on wizards forums and shared it and from there we were off to make strong characters and play RAW as much as possible

@BESW I thought you would enjoy this

has anyone got/seen any details for 3.5/PF compatible manbearpig?

@waxeagle ... what's "opyness?"

@ProfessorLokiCaprion 4e sort of carries a latent need for PCs to be optimized and successfully divorces mechanical optimization from narrative (you can have a mechanically powerful and narratively interesting character).

@waxeagle Ah, I see! I'm so unfamiliar with terminologies.

@ProfessorLokiCaprion this is where I link Brian's paper on constrained op: mendeley.com/c/4420051955/p/2110651/…
it's not quite what I'm talking about here, but it's a good start to thinking about optimization across different axis

@waxeagle Curses; work-blocker strikes again!

4:12 PM
yes, for example being an optimizer, rules lawyer, min-maxer etc are pretty much derogatory terms in earlier editions but in 4e its not so

@ProfessorLokiCaprion bummer, and you apparently can't just read the paper anyways, gotta go and install a silly exe which I'm not doing at work
(anymore, used to be able to just grab it and read IIRC)
probably because it's published now
no, it's still a working paper...darned academia is so confusing
there it is. finally found a goram download pdf link

It is as convoluted as the holy roman empire, I work in it (Drexel University) and its the best comparison I can think of to history

4:33 PM
@waxeagle That sounds terribly dangerous!

@ProfessorLokiCaprion yeah, thankfully not actually the case.

4:51 PM
well that question came and went fast

indeed

Did I miss it? I was eating McNuggets!

dude was asking for a recommendation for an LCG or CCG basically and I flagged it as belonging on boardgames.se

Which is a better game. Monopoly or LIFE? That sounds related to RPGs.

Monopoly is a lot more LIKE life.
/philosophy

1 hour later…
6:30 PM
3.5e : Can you parry an arrow?
Like, an arrow that's moving toward you at a high speed

I think there's an Epic Feat for monks for that.
So, in general, no.

aw... was hoping you'd say yes so I could start a joke :(

Ok, let's try that again. Start over.

3.5e: Can you parry an arrow?

Yes

6:37 PM
Okay. What about a shot from a sling - ie, a rock moving towards you very quickly.

Sure

Okay, what about the earth when you're falling - its just a large rock moving toward you very quickly.

I can concede that, yes.

this game is awesome.
Anyone ever have weird in-game events happen like that anyway?

Dodging the earth when falling is basically a specific case of Douglas Adams' rules for flying.

6:40 PM
googled that. found a page of quotes:
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.
Read more at http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/d/douglas_adams.html#psqH5JqTyfdmyQOF.99
thats - thats fantastic

He was a fantastic writer, yes.

is a fantastic writer - he's still relevant, to me at least because I've never read anything of his. these quotes are really good

In that case, I shall urge you to go out, post haste, and purchase a copy of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

dont get paid till friday, but I'll have to check it out. there's a bookstore in town and I might be able to find it there, they've got a lot of cool things
"The knack of flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss." - Douglas Adams.

It's a classic, so they should have a copy. Also, it's short and to the point.

6:44 PM
10/10

Though the bit about flying, if I recall correctly, comes up a bit later in the series.

@Shiester you can find all 5 volumes of his trilogy in a single binding quite affordably, I recommend doing that

so for a game i'm hosting I've asked players to come up with backgrounds and details about it just incase it comes up later on in the game (so i could use their backgrounds as a plot device for side-stuff)

@lisardggY 3rd or 4th book, can't remember which

one of em, playing a dwarf who can't read, came up with this sparkling gem that his dwarven "friends" made him telling him it was a magic device of great power that if he should fill it out then he could become mighty and powerful.

6:51 PM
@waxeagle Pretty sure it's the 3rd, with Agrajag.

@waxeagle I'm relatively sure it was the third.
Yeah, because he gets hit in the small of the back with a flying party!

it took me about five minutes to recover after opening the file he sent me

Heh.

time to do my best magic trick ever and escape from reality using this bottle of booze.

woot just got some rep and badges over at boardgames.se
The dude who had the mtg question posted over there as I felt he would so I jumped over and looked for it ans aswered
hows everyone doing here

7:02 PM
lol @Shiester what were you looking for?

@Aaron I came back just to star that post.

on that note, good PP for a Sun domain cleric who is sort of halfway between ranged and melee, wields a polearm and is worshiping Pelor? (for reasons)

Hee... "PP"...

Id really love to answer the 2nd lvl quest for kids question but I honestly looked at the lvl 2 adventures and they all things like zombies, boiling oil, goblins killing their leaders so they can be leader etc.

7:07 PM
@JoshuaAslanSmith the correct answer is to reskin the Chaos Scar as a hive and have all of the monsters be flavors of beetle

hmmm I have one that may be apropriate
its the zombie one
kids might be able to handle zombies if you play it for laughs vs. horror

@JoshuaAslanSmith yeah I think you can get away with that

im kudosing you in it for your excellent list (Also linking your answer with the list)

I mean tbh D&D is usually geared at the T for Teen level so trying to bring it down a content level is problematic

indeed
thats how I feel

7:24 PM
@waxeagle kudos hath been given

A: A good 2nd level DDI-subscription adventure for a family with little kids?

Joshua Aslan SmithThe Dungeon of the Ghost Tower - Dungeon 182 First and foremost kudos to WaxEagle for his answer which gave me the published adventures list accessible through D&D Insider w/ such info for level, setting, and html links. The Dungeon of the Ghost Tower is an adventure for 5 2nd lvl heroes that ...

any thoughts on a PP for a cleric?

what kinda cleric

halfway between beam and battle

gotcha, is there a specific diety/alignment going down?

Pelor, no alignment restrictions

7:25 PM
understood

@waxeagle PP?

@Metool paragon path

@waxeagle any MC already and/or are you willing to MC?

@JoshuaAslanSmith I've got a feat open, trying to keep this...relatively simple though
(this is currently a proof of concept as we need to build a new cleric (ours moved to Pennsylvania))

lol I live in pa

7:29 PM
the guy who is going to be playing it is currently playing a Shaman and enjoys it, but the character is a bit too complicated for his skill level and doesn't provide the level of healing our party needs for him to be the solo leader

checkout paragon of victory
adds on some healing (u-12 power) and one of the features and keeps him dealing out damage via minor action on normal at wills or opp attacks as opp actions
are you looking for a full heal PP?

@JoshuaAslanSmith nope
I have Zealous Demagogue plugged in right now so it's definitely up in the air...
(party comp is Fighter, Rogue, Barb, Psion)

ouch psion

@JoshuaAslanSmith yeah...my fighter plays a strong minion popping/control role :)
(the psion is weird too, he took Divine Oracle as his PP...)

@waxeagle are you a player or gm

7:36 PM
@JoshuaAslanSmith player

I almost feel if hes coming in from a shaman role you should make a warpriest vs a templar

@JoshuaAslanSmith Definitely something I'm exploring

Since healing is powered by hitting, it wont be as much pure hp healing as a healic/pacifist but itll still be good, and allow a player who is used to being able to do lots of things still do lots of things
whats the starting level

@JoshuaAslanSmith 13
ok, I've got a cleric I'm pretty happy with, now to see if I can get a WP with anything close to those defenses...
hmm strong consideration for dilletante for this guy is going to be an enabling power from the Warlord list...I just realized that's a totally legit possibility...

7:54 PM
hahaha
and you spoke of keeping things simple

@JoshuaAslanSmith heh :)...enabling is just about the strongest thing a leader can do though..

true thats why I threw out that paragon of victory, saves, temps, mbas etc

@JoshuaAslanSmith yeah
good path, good chance I encourage that one strongly

how about I try to build a warpriest along the line of what Im thinking and send you the file?
I will shortly have nothing to do at work

@JoshuaAslanSmith go for it.
building one myself at the moment

7:58 PM
ooooh theres a lvl 10 warpriest feature that makes enemies grant CA

I'm here another 45 or so, then have all day Friday flying solo (probably), tomorrow should be pretty quiet too

your rogue would have afield day

@JoshuaAslanSmith ooh excellent

@waxeagle usual item rules apply?

@JoshuaAslanSmith yeah

7:59 PM
cool

oh hell, hand of radiance anyone?
oh darn...it's ranged though...hmmm
nm though, the CA is only for the WP
oh and it has to be an encounter..I got all excited for a minute there :)

?

@Aaron me getting excited about a potential abuse of a class feature that wasn't actually possible, no worries

@waxeagle Lol

@Aaron it's the little things, yah know
@JoshuaAslanSmith how about this one, (it amuses me), choose Commander's strike for your dilettante power, take Effortless Dilettante as a feat, you can now charge, and at the end of a charge you can give your buddy an attack...

8:13 PM
haha
that nice

It's always nice to see cheque spelled right.

im seeing how the torm realm on a wilden is working out
gritty sergeant for +1 init and a free military melee prof (con is secondary)

yep

picking a theme went with tactical warpriest for PP

makes sense
eh mace works well, unforgettable cudgel

8:43 PM
mace does work I mean its just if youre going for weapon feat or no

@ProfessorLokiCaprion Join #pocketparty here or visit irc://irc.ponychat.net/#pocketparty to discuss things.

I can't get on IRC from work. :(

@Metool it doen't parse irc://, only http(s)://

@waxeagle Feature request.
@ProfessorLokiCaprion Remember to check back here, then.

@Metool I shall! Though I may be taking care of the sick wifey, tonight. :( She's in a bad state.

8:48 PM
Oh, dang...
Hope she gets better soon.

I shall see how she is when I get home!
@Metool Thank you! So do I!
Because I KNOW this means I'm getting sick soon.

9:47 PM
quick question: is it kosher to ask a question along the lines of "Recommended systems for one-on-one (1 player, 1 GM, or GM-less) system for X genre"?

I'd hope so.

@DavidCEllis I would do a search to make sure the question hasn't been asked already but yes it should be acceptable.

Thanks guys!

hey all; I'm working on an email for a game that I'm going to run sometime next year, and I want to introduce the concepts of "lines" and "veils" that we've discussed here a number of times. I've found a few answers where they were discussed, but it seems like the terms are redefined every time (unless I'm overlooking a question).
Are these terms something I can ask a question about, and would that be on topic? (i.e.: "In the context of role playing games, what do the terms 'lines' and 'veils' mean?")

@GamerJosh It's something I'd ask.

9:55 PM
@Metool great, i'll write up a question, then. thanks!

(No really, what's it about?)
