Q: Is there an "Alluxio bridge" to mount cluster A on cluster B and vice versa?

ChanChan MaoI would like to ask about multi-cluster cross-region deployment. I have two Alluxio clusters A and B. Is there an "Alluxio bridge" to mount cluster A on cluster B and vice versa? (I don't mean to use "active replication" but more some kind of on-demand caching possibly with some eviction policies...

I had never heard of 'alluxio' until that guy's post, and it turns out he's doing his own Q&As, first on SO and now here... Just an enthusiast for whatever that is, or populating both sites with indirect advertisement?
The phrasing makes me a bit suspicious, "I would like to ask about" is a strange opener if you intend to answer it yourself

Might want to poke a mod at SO as well if you haven't done so already :)
Here's another one, currently spreading spam on DiY but also has an account on SO: stackoverflow.com/users/19466885/creative-arcades

ah tbh, I don't really bother unless its a multi site spammer
our official and unofficial channels seem to be decent

MiG
how individual moderators handle this seems to vary widely though
a fair number seem to not bother with the account itself for one, even though it's only been used for spam

10:50 AM
yup
there's no 'great' tooling for this and the official line is profile spam has no impact

Not sure why they would claim this... It doesn't just dilute the useful content, it also makes a very bad impression - if some bot can post an automated message, how can I trust the other answers?

\o/
Its one of the many things we're arguing for tbh
and spamram aside (the official anti spam tool) there's a rediculous amount of volunteer work to get rid of spam efficently on posts

MiG
There should be some shortcut in place for mods to also quickly review and if (probably) warranted, also dispatch the account itself - and across the network if (usually) applicable
Is there an effective way to track spam plugged into a post later, as an edit? I notice the review queues are about new questions, new answers and answers to old posts... Nothing stopping them from posting something genuine looking, then one or two days later just replace it with spam (for SEO or other purposes)

not really no
our first line of defence is usually human eyeballs

MiG
I wonder how much spam is still in the db that escaped attention :/

11:56 AM
Technically its ALL in the DB
we do soft not hard deletions
but not much. Most active sites have/should have good flagging culture

MiG
@JourneymanGeek In the sense that it's publicly accessible and effective as spam (hidden content, also technically, would not be spam) :P

ah no
very little

MiG
where do SU and DiY rank in activeness?

12:12 PM
SU is probably top 3-4
and we have the advantage of being one of the original sites
so in some situations we have a bit more leverage
not much

On the site I moderate, we kill spammers in their tracks. Good flagging, active mods, hands washed
