Looked at the fuser on my mom's old Brother laser printer... 205 °C. Geez, this machine uses old-style pulverized toner, not the chemically-grown, polymerized toner that newer printers use.
(it's a far lower 155 °C on my C405, which uses Xerox EA toner)
On the newer HL-L2370DW, that's a saner 180 °C, which points to polymerized toner. These low-melt toners definitely do not need 205 °C.
And pulverized toner is more prone to caking, which is why this cartridge is going bad. Caked toner can get caught against the doctor blade, resulting in uneven coverage on the developer roller and vertical streaking. reddit.com/r/printers/comments/pokezl/…
