Can you power on 2000W kettle on UPS 850VA?

Even if you could, I wouldn't recommend it. Your UPS will probably cry as soon as you start heating it up

Kettles tend to heat up by shorting the circuit to a point. Your UPS will cry, or trip up, as soon as the max is reached

have you ever tried boiling a kettle on the US power grid?

It takes FOREVER

I usually boil my kettle over my graphics card.

@Burgi In BC, where we supply a majority of Califonia's power, yea... I don't fill the kettle all the way though, only as much as I need

we took a small travel kettle to NYC so we could get british tea

its only about half a litre but it still took about 15 mins to boil

If it's expecting 220v, and only gets 110v, it would take at least twice as long

though they may just be saying it won't die
