there's some advantages with this - like being able to use integrated graphics alongside discrete since the 'onboard' graphics arn't using the same PCIe lanes as the discrete one would

@northerner Since Sandy Bridge. When a GPU is part of the processor package, we call it "processor graphics".

Strictly speaking, "integrated graphics" is only for a GPU on the motherboard.
