For intel, at least since sandy bridge - so since 2010, AMD I think has been doing it longer
there's some advantages with this - like being able to use integrated graphics alongside discrete since the 'onboard' graphics arn't using the same PCIe lanes as the discrete one would
 
@northerner Since Sandy Bridge. When a GPU is part of the processor package, we call it "processor graphics".
Strictly speaking, "integrated graphics" is only for a GPU on the motherboard.
 
@bwDraco half a second too slow. Though, wasn't AMD doing APUs before that?

(also, amusingly on many modern processors the 'gpu' part of the die, or processor is bigger than the 'CPU' part)
