who owns the mountpoint for the USB?

and can samba or smb user (whatever they're called on ubuntu) access it?

I didn't think to check on a directory in /home/ with a manual config...

(create new folder, try manual setup for SMB...)

I can't imagine gnome controlling smb and allowing you to add shares manually.

This means I can move torrents back to the beebox (the internal SATA port is broken) and try an older ubuntu on my old PC to see if that gets the video card working :D

@djsmiley2k-CoW Eh, Ryzen's memory controller doesn't like populating all four slots with dual-rank memory modules. The maximum supported speed in this configuration is lower (DDR4-2666), and full DDR4-3200 speed is probably not attainable.

Workloads that benefit from this much memory are exceedingly unusual even with what I use Astaroth for. Ryzen processors tend to be very sensitive to memory frequency, more so than Intel Core processors: techspot.com/review/1955-ryzen-3950x-vs-core-i9-9900ks-gaming

Ryzen cares a lot more about memory bandwidth than latency because its memory architecture requires that all memory accesses pass through the northbridge chiplet (I/O die).
