@JourneymanGeek Armbian was a cinch to set up, got it all sorted and a quick test showed that email and basic web browsing were pretty darn snappy
Cheers for the suggestion :)

I just saw someone in the wild actually using DuckDuckGo
Cool stuff
Okay I asked them about it and they have no idea why they're using it
That's disappointing

10:01 AM
@MichaelFrank yep! Checked out yesterday. I don't like how they've done a few characters (notable the "a"), but it's nice

@rahuldottech welcome to the computing life of 'normo's

for some wierd reason...
the keyboard he's using here is pushing a lot of buttons. But I have enough keyboards ._.
Also I know some of y'all have great reasons to avoid the epic game store but...
the arkham games are fun, and $0 is a pretty hard price to beat.

1:04 PM
Ah fudgenuggets
Untitled Goose Game is Epic Games store it seems
It looked fun
Steam has a page for it, but release date "TBD"
Blah

I have a 180-page MS Word document with tracked changes amounting to 15 pages, scattered all over the document. Can I select them all at once somehow? My task is to translate only the changed bits of text, so I need to select them and highlight them with yellow in order to see what needs to be translated when I load the document to Trados.

Q: How to select ALL DELETED (or ALL ADDED) text (track change) in MS Word 2016

VSRawatit is a variation of question MS Word: How do I format all change tracked text at once? I am finding difficulty in working with the colors given in MS Word (I am at 2016) for track change. The colors are so few, and are so dim or otherwise obscure that track changed deleted/ added text doesn't ...

Works like a charm

8:40 PM
the batman arkham series is free on the epic store this week

Apparently Lego is as well?

yeah

I'm more keen for that ha
Although I didn't see what Lego games they were

free games is free games
the DC comics/batman ones
80 years of batman or something?

Ahh yea, there they are.
Acquired!
Also, I have like... 20+ free games from Epic now. They must be harvesting hella data from my computer. :V

9:07 PM
@Burgi actually the whole trilogy
though origins and asylum have been on discount a lot lately, even if its not as big a discount

i did say "series"

9:37 PM
hmmm
pretty sure I need a new CPU fan
the Heatsink is fine, so I really need to take a look at how the fans attached, if it's simple maybe I can just replace the fan...

@djsmiley2k a lot of heat sinks use standard ones

yah
involves climbing under my desk, one mo

and I know some people just use self tapping screws and bodge it on
less fun with a modern heatsink. easier with the old boxy ones
might not need to XD

yah I had done thatrri n the past

newer ones are circular
less fun for that

9:41 PM

oh that looks standard

Everyones like 'woah how fast is your camera, that's a perfect photo of a fan in motion
then you look at the fan at the top, which IS spinning...

in fact it looks the same size as that noctua

it does, doesn't it.... hmmmm
i need some heatpaste too I thinky
and then I could take hsf off, clean it, replace it and new fan
I think it's 4pin connector on the mb
/me ponders
What's amazing is the fan at the back, and the noctua up top, are keeping the CPU cool enough.

might be a thinner fan thouh
depending on the clearance to the ram sticks

9:47 PM
oh there's room I think
/me will look more properly tomorrow
can't afford it til payday anyway
Right i'm orf to bed good night and good bye.
