Ha! I just watched someone hit the out of memory error on 64-bit Excel running on a brand new i7 / 16GB machine.

As someone who has an actual mechanical relay in use onn his desk...

That's probably true. It's just not something I ever noticed.

I just ran a health check on my old old SSD. It has had 100 "Uncorrectable Error Count" events ... and the guide I'm reading says they schedule SSDs for replacement the first time that number goes above 0. I'm wondering if I should start looking for another drive.

Or just use it for OS and other non-critical data only.

I think I'll try and use another disk for a while, see if it stops the issues I've been having.

For some reason my desktop just slowly bricks its Windows installation with a range of random errors on starting. I suspected memory at first, but trying a different disk should be a bit easier to test than replacing the memory.
