Q: The disk image is 497GB smaller than the target device

MikiBelavistaMy friend gave me a USB with some tutorials that are iso formated When I try to open them on my Ubuntu 18.04,I got this If I choose to start restoring will it erase all the other content on my 500GB disk or not?

Or at least point you down that path.

Can someone tl;dr what sororities and fraternities are?

@rahuldottech female and male 'societies' within a college

@JourneymanGeek what's the "Greek" aspect I hear about?

@rahuldottech they often have names with greek letters

@JourneymanGeek oh okay. Thanks.

Its more of a US thing so someone there can probably get in more detail
there's also a wikipedia page ;p

Lol, I don't feel up to long form reading at the moment.
I highly recommend the "Heavyweight" podcast to anyone here looking for interesting stories to listen to.
Not tech related. Lots of fun

I'd like to get some feedback from another reviewer about how to review this question: Multiple inventory sites from multiple company files best process. My problem is that it lists 5 different requirements which is possibly too broad, but all 5 requirements need to be met. Any ideas?

@karel The five requirements/conditions aren't an issue in themselves, per se
> What other preparations will I need to make to have this go live and avoid huge problem in accounting and inventory accuracy?
The way the question is phrased in the final paragraph is pretty broad
It's also not clear in my mind whether OP is asking a technical (software) question, or a process (accounting/inventory) question

Thanks for the feedback. I have also considered advising the asker to split his question up into smaller chunks, but this maybe isn't such a good idea because it all is one single project.

10:29 AM
It's a hard one, because it basically boils down to "how do I avoid problems I might face?", and QA works best when there is a specific problem to answer
My suggestion would be for OP to test the process / try it non-live
See if there is a problem, and if so ask a question about that
I do get why they're asking, tho

eww quickbooks

Anyway this is all IMHO etc, others may want to chime in

They need to speak to the support, not a random site on the internet.
Quickbooks will have a process for doing exactly this, and they should follow that.
It will already highlight the risks and gottchas.
This is why we don't do corporate support on superuser.

Aye, and if not that's what support / consultants / 'process engineers' or whatever they're called are for

Also the question as it stands shows no effort or research.
'I tried this and X happened' - this is missing.
grrr
NSX (from vmware) - basically their version of software defined networking, doesn't support any kind of snmp monitoring
which is stupid, as that's the industry standard.
but this is what happens when a virtualisation company, makes a networking product :/
It does snmp-traps, whic hare alerts sent when a event occurs
but no kind of monitoring of 'normal' activity.

I already see the future question in my mind, where somebody askes if you can enable Windows Sandbox, on Windows 10 Home. Should I make a question out of this tutorial? All the script appears to do is to install the feature.

8:37 PM
@Ramhound If you think it's useful, do it. Otherwise, I'd wait until someone asks about it. Seems like a cool feature though

8:49 PM
uhhh think my ping might be getting worse

@Ramhound Yes... let's immediately download an unknown .exe from the internet so we can run other unknown .exe's from the internet. Makes sense!

@MichaelFrank - It’s a zip file that contained a script that runs a couple DISM commands. The file and script is harmless. I would provide the script as text, if I were to make a question and answer, out of the material (proper citation provided obviously) or just write my own.

@Ramhound yes
