americans have a weird system in shops, they list something as say $4.99, you go to pay with a $5 note and they suddenly add on sales tax, state tax and all sorts of extra taxes
@Burgi nah, it's cool. I came to terms with it a very long time ago. My mom and sis still feel let down or whatever when he says he'll do something and doesn't, but I really don't expect anything from him in the first place, so... Meh.
@Burgi college 1 is only BSc (IT), college 2 is either BSc (CS), or BSc (Data Science)
Also worth mentioning, that although it's not more "respected", college 1 is more well-known among the public, due to how much they advertise. I dunno if this will matter when I apply for jobs
@Burgi already visited the first. Didn't like it much. They were trying wayy too hard to impress the visitors, and kept boasting about their facilities, and I'm quoting here: "truly five-star washrooms"
@Burgi yeah. I think I'll apply to college 2 then. If I end up not going, they'll completely refund the initial deposit. Unlike college 1, which is asking for a non-refundable deposit of 1500 USD (a lot in rupees!) to reserve my seat.
We have a national not-no-insane exam which is valid for most (all?) unis but the score for admittance is insane, if it's a carrer as medical, law or etc sometimes there's easily 50 ~ 100 or even 150 contestants per opening. So a score of 97.25 and 97.50 can mean the difference between acceptance or not.
But no interview, no cover letter, nothing. You pass the exam, that's it.
Each uni can have its own admission exam but it's usually also an exam with no interviews or admission letters or whatever
And there are also a lot of private unis where all they want is your money and a clinically dead goldfish can pass the exam.
