@studiohack The way paypal works is if you transfer money as a regular transfer, you pay the fee. If you transfer money as a store purchase, the store pays the fee.

You can select either one.

as I try to explain badly, I must have done service last time rather than selected gift - gift gives you an option of paying or let the other person do... service doesn't even mention it... I thought I was lucky enough to get off of it, but, I saw the same today after clicking next knowing I did the wrong click... so, I guessed what must have happened last time

It's on the main page. You select transfer money, and they ask you waht it's for. You can select "purchase" or "regular transfer"
