Regex has its uses for scraping from a block of text, but will be inaccurate.

When your data source has a fixed format already, using that format would be the smart way.

@Bob I remember being on a coach in AU. From somewhere to somewhere else on the east coast (on the way to Heron Island). All I could see out of the window pretty much the whole day was burnt Eucalyptus trees. We stopped (unscheduled by my request to the driver) in a small town as I had an infected foot and needed to see a doctor.

Yea, I was (a passenger, thank god) on a drive from Sydney to Melbourne. ~9 hours on the road.

And that's a relatively close & densely-populated area.

Perth to Darwin? Darwin to Alice Springs? Whole lot of nothingness.

You have to define "fail".

If it doesn't find the match you want, that's probably not a failure as far as the tool is concerned.

There's a few regex testing tools.

Like i have 50k file when I pick and choose lines write in temp files sed cmd works otherwise on original file it fails giving empty record?

I see there must be something like in error in parsing which is making it write no data.

That weird spiky behaviour is what WinSAT randomly kicking in looks like.

That and a corresponding increase in temps and fan noise, and a switch to the basic theme.

I wonder who thought it'd be a good idea to run that automatically...
