@bertieb I didn't say I don't use a password manager. I do. But once in a blue moon a person could find something they didn't add to the password manager. I'm sure many people don't have all their website logins saved in their password manager and rely on Chrome to save them. In this case it was a password to an FTP server that wasn't that important but I got the password with one of those programs
asterisk password decryptor by krylack that I ordered for about $20 'cos I was desperate and couldn't find a free one reasonably quickly. I would've used nirsoft but i forgot about it!
02:16
Oh
You had an actual problem :D
@barlop nirsoft is my go to for trustworthy programs that do dodgy things :D

@barlop "You" in the general sense
in the same way "you" have backups (right?)
any any other number of sensible measures

Well, it's definitely important to have backups and take sensible security measures to protect your data. Password managers are useful for storing and generating strong, unique passwords for different websites. It's also a good idea to regularly update your passwords, enable two-factor authentication where available, and be cautious of phishing attempts. As for using password recovery programs, it's worth doing some research and choosing reputable software to ensure the security of your ...

can I block that bot?
wtf is that bot doing here? Did y'all permit it to be here? It's been bothering us on CGCC too, and cluttering up the sandbox
If it's not been explicitly given permission to be here I'd just kick-mute it
do we have an option to mute a "user"?
like an admin could properly mute a user i suppose but do we have an option to at least mute a user on a private level ? (user in this case being the bot)
Room owners can kick-mute a user, which is temporary (I think it's just 5m the first time), no perma-muting in the RO tools tho (or the mod tools AFAIK)
oh well, ta for now!
14:41
@RydwolfPrograms We have given explicit permission here
@barlop I distinctly recall an ignore option
@JourneymanGeek Yeah I later realized
And yes 1) the bot has explicit permissions
2) if it gets too annoying, I'll feedback to @Michael .
@JourneymanGeek Ignoring isn't really a good option because it creates confusing situations where someone seems to be talking to nobody, or where moderation gets tricky since you can't see messages
@JourneymanGeek Who's that? Peteird's the one who made the bot right?
@RydwolfPrograms nope
@RydwolfPrograms Well, I am the moderator of record here, I am generally here and deal with chat moderation on this room
What's that in reply to?
14:46
Oak's not one of his
sec
@JourneymanGeek this message I mean
Yeah, who actually made Oak anyway?
uh
Lemme get this straight. You came in here, assuming that a chatbot belongs to someone who isn't a chat regular here, and are complaining about it? >_>
@Michael Clearly Oak wrote itself :D
@JourneymanGeek No, I came in here because someone chat-flagged a message from a bot that has been cluttering up multiple rooms I'm in
14:49
is it this bot?
Which rooms?
It's massively cluttered up the sandbox, talked numerous times in rooms it's explicitly not allowed in, and the author has ignored any requests to move it to its own room. I assumed that was what happened here
@RydwolfPrograms uhhh the sandbox is a the sandbox :D
though, technically my alt account is an RO there so...
@RydwolfPrograms I don't really see oakbot cluttering the sandbox
@JourneymanGeek Sure but it was so spammed at one point that using it for formatting tests was annoying
14:53
@RydwolfPrograms Are you sure you're not confusing it with utlitybot?
Both of them
I'm looking through as much scrollback as I can be bothered to... and I really don't see a problem
and the other room oak's in is a spam overflow room
