OMG
20 january 2022 will forever be marked as the day I discovered CTRL-J in Notepad++
no more editing out other people's fucking hard returns and badly made PDFs

Oh
In general SE is no swearing
It's not always enforced but we got into trouble a few times...
So I just Steve Rogers it 😁

I make a very strong distinction between racism, insults and anything else that negatively affects or portrays someone, but outside of that I feel that humanity doesn't need limitations... it's always very weird looking at US TV programs and people actually being censored (stare at that single word for a moment will ya) and then seeing NL TV (and society in general) work just fine without that...

Its the rules ;)

MiG
yes yes, we must obey zee jackboots :P
bizarre isn't it? you're allowed to own and fire a minigun, but saying 'fuck' on TV is not... I suppose the definition of dangerous differs in different parts of the world :x
ah yes, there we go: Stack Exchange Inc.

Q: Are expletives (cursing, swear words or vulgar language) allowed on SE sites?

Jeff AtwoodCan I use salty, expletive-laden language on Stack Exchange sites, like Q*Bert? For more information, see "What kind of behavior is expected of users?" in the Help Center. Return to FAQ index

(Co founder of stack exchange and imo resposible for a lot of the culture of the network)

@CanadianLuke "join lines" - adds spaces to the end of the selected lines, then removes their carriage returns
so you copy
this text from a pdf
that has all these
hard returns in it.
CTRL-J makes that a single line, quite useful when putting together lots of information from different documents :)

does it work over multiple lines?
in vim you can hit J in normal mode to join the next line to current
but you can also get it to work on multiple lines with visual select or a prefix
