@ekaj system image is the system partition, which includes user profiles

the data partition includes games and photos

user files (important parts of my profile; mostly appdata and documents) is 345 GB

this is a daily incremental with a full backup every week

My system partition is only about 80GB, I keep music/videos/that kinda stuff on a separate drive

that's every day for over a year

going back to November 2012

I need to start doing backups, but TBH I rarely do anything important enough to back up

and a 320 GB image of one laptop and a 489 GB image of another

hm. the second one ended up on an external HDD due to lack of space

@ThatBrazilianGuy I think what happened was that in the early days of dial-up internet, there were ISPs who gave you some help documentation on how to pick your email username, and it was something like "other people have probably chosen the word you've thought of, so add some digits at the end"

Microsoft promoted that further with things like MSN Gaming Zone which would come up with common English words with random digits after them usually

though I do notice some sites offer username suggestions with appended digits

also some people put their birth year in their email address to increase ease of memorization

but in all honesty, it's easy to remember because those digits do hold significant meaning to me

@allquixotic Here it was quite common a few years ago to see usernames with the current year at the end. It always puzzled me: "are you going to create a new email account each year?"

come to think of it, every email address I've used for something significant has always been without any numbers, except for cases where my email address is assigned to me without me getting any say in what it is
