A bunch of screenshot questions were recently tagged community-faq-proposed. Maybe you would take the one with the best info for Windows, the best for OS X, and best for cross-platform, and make each of those into a really super good one

I think the process went something along the lines of: make every non-zero sensor of equal size, then for each row calculate where it balances around and fit a linear line through it
@Nyuszika7H: It sounds more logic to make something read only and adjust it's styling rather than making something disabled and make it click-able afterwards.

last time I "upgraded", my previous machine still had an AGP slot (this was ~2.5yrs ago...) so I bought a pre-built machine rather than being bothered to upgrade all the components, but since I opened the new one up for repairs recently I've noticed it's really a tiny case
since I've had to fork out for replacement parts already, and have an upgrade route for my CPU, I think trying to keep this one going a while will be useful

Extracting text from a PDF??
Just double-click a saved PDF and it will open in Evince (the default document viewer in Ubuntu). Highlight the text you want to extract (or CTRL+A and CTRL+C to grab it all), and dump it into a text editor (CTRL +V). You don't need any special software for this.
