@PeterTurner Speaking as a nerdy guy, I think I can say that the place of nerds in society (including in schools, from what I'm hearing) has changed massively in recent years. They're not really discriminated against much these days.

@TRiG I'm up annoyingly early from a on-call support work so I shouldn't have popped my head in here, but I guess that's a good thing that nerds are getting a little respect. (not the adorkable myogynist part, I think that's hollywood's fault).

@PeterTurner Mostly Hollywood, yes. But it's also a useful reminder that toxicity can take many forms, and escaping the most obvious doesn't mean you've escaped them all. I need to remind myself of that from time to time.
